A few weeks ago, I had a friend who knew a friend who knew someone who had a new pair of Borresen X1 monitors. After much a-doo, I was given access to that individual’s home to audition them, quite impressive to be honest - treble, bass was surprisingly great. I mean for $5500 & $1100 for stands.

I walked away thinking I’m ordering a pair. After consulting with my dealer, the better move would be the X2’s floor standers at $8800.

Check!✅

The most interesting part was the individual. Was a VP with FEDEX international freight. He told me within FedEx’s website is a link to request a quote on what FedEx calls international Priority “Last Minute Rate.”

Fill out the request and include ship /pickup date for the quote - should have a Last-Minute Rate in 24 hours valid for a week. This is door to door service. FedEx acts as customs broker in Japan &will Deliver - uncrate down & hand carry up to the 4th floor.

Did all that - $495 via Air from RDU to
Memphis & then to Japan direct. Normal
Price was $10k. They want to fill Up the plane.

Not sure if they have a domestic freight last minute rate quote. They were picked up Monday & in Japan already moving thru Customs.
