It's time for the final thread about Sigberg Audio products in a while
The SBS.1 was launched in 2021 and is an active 2.5-way speaker consisting of a coaxial driver as well as a dedicated midrange driver. In a similar fashion as our Mantas, they are designed to play with at least one of our subwoofers for true full range in-room response. They have the same Sigberg Audio sound signature as the Mantas, meaning full, punchy lowend and midbass, combined with a mid and treble that is clean and open with no trace of listening fatigue even during extended listening sessions and high playback levels.
And again in the same way as the Mantas, the design approach with dedicated subwoofers means that we use powerful, high sensitivity drivers with light cones, resulting in very high dynamic range. I am not immediately aware of any speaker of similar size that can play as loud as the SBS.1 without audible compression. Both drivers play down to 90hz meaning you have dual 5.5" drivers in the critical upper bass / lower mid, before the subwoofers take over.
The cabinet (baffle and back wall) is tilted back four degrees, and fit and finish is of course excellent. The impression of two identical drivers (as opposed to a traditional tweeter) also gives it a bit of an out of the ordinary appearence despite the relatively neutral design. For natural reasons they don't get as much attention as the Mantas given their neutral looks, but they're really exceptionally good (see also review section below).
As with the Mantas we sell these both to studios and audiophiles.
