Thought to share my client install last week of the Swiss Audio Consulting R-Evolution Minima turntable, Thales Simplicity arm, EMT Platinum MC with Schnerzinger phono lead, Silver Rock phono stage and all Jadis electronics; partnered with the client’s first generation Avantgarde Trio loudspeakers. Running the Audio Consulting off the grid (not to mention a DD TT running off a battery!), introduces a level of purity that is mesmerizing.

Steve, thanks for asking. Serge Schmidlin of Audio Consulting has reinvented the Technics direct drive with his own servo electronics and custom designed wooden plinth/platter. Rare to see a direct drive that's battery operated and the result is an incredibly low noise floor, analog flow and DD immediacy that's incredibly seductive and engaging. The arm is a Thales Simplicity mated to the top EMT Platinum cartridge. The EMT alnico based magnet imbues with a midrange that sounds solid and sweet. It's matched to an Audio Consulting Silver Rock (off the grid as well) phono stage and Jadis electronics outfitted with EL34 tubes (my fave imho for Jadis amps). Beautiful sound with the older Trio horns
