Here i wanna introduce you to my Technics sb e100 horn speakers from the 70's.

Searched for 10 years and found 2 pairs in germany for a good price.

The dark colored where made in japan and sold in Europe. The others light colored where made for the japanese market.
Both sound the same.

Some pictures------

Dark colored.(Transport with a bus from kassel germany)
The owner was kind enough to take them from berlin to kassel where he was visiting his family.
1 trip to berlin is like 600 km from my location so picking them up in kassel(200 from my location) was a better option.
They belonged to his father who bought them new in 1978.I got the original manual together with the speakers.

Light colored
Transport from sollingen germany. This time i just took the car since it had enough space.
Could test them on a accuphase amp and bought them.
This are the light colored version for the japanese market. They got imported in germany.
Only difference is the color and the buttons on the terminal are chrome.

Terminal with multi amp system.

Cleaning

Short about my rig with pictures-
The am 95 was bought on ebay(Auction) with a brochure picture and listed as broken/spare parts.
After winning the auction i picked it up in Willich for 200 euro and it was in perfect condition.
It was listed as broken because the sound was cutting off (Dirty potentiometers).
After fixing that it worked again and is operating perfect since 2009.

Just after buying it in 2009.

APQ70C from 1982.Bought it in the netherlands with manual and original transport protection from the 1 owner.

GX75MK2 With the cd73 and at 93.I'm currently replacing the side panels with fresh new ones. The originals where not in good condition.

Some Original brochures of the Technics SB-E100

The condition of the speakers was very good.

Only had to clean the wood with wax and they where like new.

They sound like a live concert and the amp (Akai am 95) really likes them.Don't need much power and are very efficient.

Only thing i plan is to replace the old capacitors for original panasonic ones as they are getting pretty old.

Enjoy! And cheers from the netherlands.

Very nice the horns remind me of the JBL Smith horns any vanes hidden in the throats?
