My wife and I managed to watch this movie last night. A very long but very well told story which comes in at 3'20"

Director Of Photography: Lol Crawley
Cast: Adrien Brody, Felicity Jones, Guy Pearce, Joe Alwyn, Raffey Cassidy, Stacy Martin, Emma Laird, Isaach de Bankolé
Rating: R
Director: Brady Corbet
Running Time: 215 min.
Synopsis
Escaping post-war Europe, visionary architect László Tóth arrives in America to rebuild his life, his work, and his marriage to his wife Erzsébet after being forced apart during wartime by shifting borders and regimes. On his own in a strange new country, László settles in Pennsylvania, where the wealthy and prominent industrialist Harrison Lee Van Buren recognizes his talent for building. But power and legacy come at a heavy cost.

This is not aneasy film to watch .....my wife did not like the ending but as part of the story it brings the ending to a roaring halt . Adrian Brody is an absolutely amazing actor. This role was every bit as good as the one he played in and won the Oscar for.....The Pianist. He truly assimilates and becomes the character he plays. He is raw emotion

I wont say much about the film except to say it is definitely IMO worth the time

We have seen all of the nominated films this year except for Nickel Boys.....my wife read the book for her Book club and we will watch it later this week after the awards

For us the Best movies of the year in no particular oder were

A Complete Unknown
Emilia Perez
The Brutalist
Wicked

each film to us was uniquely different and held ur attentions from start to finish

For me .....A Complete Unknown checked all boxes and I was simply amazed by the creativity of Timothee Chalumet who wrote, directed and starred in the leading role (and sang all the songs) of Bob Dylan

Emilia Perez will win many awards tonight although I am uncertain as to best picture due to the acrimony between the Director and Karla Sofia Gascon. I believe Zoe Saldana will win best supporting

I think I will throw up if Demi Moore or Mikey Madison win

For Best Actor it is a toss up between Timothee Chalumet and Adrian Brody

I hated this movie but agree that Adrien Brody’s performance deserves an Oscar. The Nickel Boys was good but could have used a firmer editor—not as good as the book

Here’s who I think will win.

Kieran Culkin
Zoe Saldana
Timothee Chalamet
Demi Moore
Sean Baker
Brutalist

I just want Chalamet to be rewarded for his performance.

Im watching live on the red carpet and they are saying it’s toss up between Covksve and Anora

I’d like to see all things win in A Complete Unknown

You liked Demi Moore in The Substance. It was hands down one of the worst movies I’ve ever seen .

Not sure if you were referring to me but I haven’t seen the Substance yet.

I wax. Then how can you call Demi Moore to win.

Because she has won all the other best actress awards this year. I didn’t say she should win. That’s a different discussion.

I think Mikey beats Demi. All the other categories are basically set. Conclave for best picture may have had an underdog chance but with Anora winning everything so far doubt it.

Hollywood crapped out IMO with Anora. How it beat the likes of the Brutalist or A Complete Unknown totally goes over my head. Mikey and Demi is what the new Hollywood likes. To me they were simply some of the worst movies I’ve ever seen It all comes down to the bottom line and box office receipts and the new generation who are the voting Academy
