Here's a challenge that few of us will thankfully ever meet:

My sons got the chance to get even for all the good citizens of the galaxy our last trip to Disney. For any of you who have kids between 6-12, this is a once-in-a-lifetime experience for them. The "Jedi Training Academy" gives each chosen child the opportunity to have a light saber duel with Darth Vader himself. Of course, you exit through the gift shop, and we were out $150 for robes and light sabers when we were done.....

Hi Lee,

Anaheim or Orlando?

Orlando. You sign up first thing in the morning (competitive!) and are assigned a time for your turn. The stage is right outside the "Star Tours" ride in Hollywood Studios.

Darth Vader must be defeated, and small boys must do it. Good for you. Worth every dime, I'm sure. Heck, I've spent a lot more the $150 on Star Wars sabers, etc., and we haven't even been to Disney World! He's over Star Wars now, though. It's all about LOTR, Skyrim and Assasin's Creed. Next? Girls, then cars, I'm afraid.

i would have wanted to do that even back in the mid 80s, when i was 25 and the hit then was 'empire strikes back'. my boy is too tuned to mtv these days to even hold a saber. :D

That looks awesome. What a fun thing for kids to do. Lifetime memories!

In my day, that would have been the equivalent of. somehow, being on the same posse with Roy Rogers, Matt Dillon (James Arness), Gene Autry, Hapolong Cassidy (William Boyd), The Rifleman (Chuck Conners who also played for first base for the LA sub-prime baseball team), Maverick (James Garner) and all of the rest of that era and riding off so we could shoot at some bad guys !!

So imaginative of Disney. Very cool!

Lee,

I forgot to commend your boys for what looks like excellent balance and focus. Have you been taking them to RBFC?
