The Hobbitt-Trailer

Although it is not expected in theaters til Dec 2012, this is one movie I am looking forward to

The trailer suggests they're going a bit more mystical in tone than LOTR. While 'The Hobbit' told just like LOTR and of that quality would be fine, I think it's smart and good to give it a different character if that's in fact what they're doing.

I've been reading Tolkien since I was a young teen. The Hobbit was a much simpler story about Bilbo and the Shire's struggles against the Dragon Smogg. This story looks totally different. I'll have to go back to the Silmarillon to see what was taken from there. From what I recall however, Bilbo was not part of that.

It still looks like a promising thing though albeit it may be more akin to fan literature/art instead of a true adaptation.

I will see this movie.
