The Wire- remastered

Truly a great show. After reading the linked article, though, I think I'll just rewatch my DVD's.

Thanks for pointing this out. As good as Deadwood, the Sopranos, Boardwalk Empire....... are The Wire is still in my opinion the best series of them all.

That's good to know. All of the above BTW are also favorites of mine

My favorite all time was Breaking Bad

There are some who have had a hard time getting past the language in The Wire. Others don't wait for the characters to develop.

Each season of The Wire introduces a different aspect of of the impact of the illegal drug trade, whether it is on the projects, at the seaport, the impact on city government and its bureaucracy, the school system and how kids get involved in drugs, and last the print news media. You will recognize the cast who have gone on to star in other shows. This in not just about Baltimore it is every large American city. No cop, longshoreman, drug dealer, politician, a judge , lawyer, or newsman is all good or all bad.. They are all compromised in some manner.

The Wire, Lost, The Sopranos. The others mentioned haven't moved me in the same way.

Worth at least watching Season 1 to note the differences and see which version is better.
Not if one doesn't have cable LOL

Wait until the Blurays start showing up used. Same with the Sopranos, Rome, and Deadwood.

Thanks for this thread... Terry and I began season 1 last night for the 4th time! When the blu ray comes out we will be ready for the 5th time.
