Nick, any details on the changes to the tape preamp? I hear you have some tricks up your sleeve.

Upgrades to the Doshi Tape Stage :

over the course of the last year, i have improved the head amplifier to include a servo balanced discrete output driver that has lower output impedance and better drive capability (theoretically). The introduction of the Clarity Cap CMR series of caps has also made its way into the Doshi Product line. In all cases these are evolutionary changes and do not change the basic nature and performance of the product.

IMPT : if you are happy with the unit - THERE IS NO NEED for prolonged bouts of audiophile nervosa. buy some tapes or libation of your choice. if you feel like this is something to explore, contact me and based on the age of the unit, i can provide details on upgrades. If it sounded really good yesterday, chances are that it sounds really good today.

what you get - slightly lower noise, better dynamics(if you can believe that!) and the caps are the most neutral cap i have heard. (i used to think that about the MR series so go figure!)
