This thread is prompted by the recent thread on Springsteen, whose energy seemed boundless in his series of recent concerts at the Meadowlands in NJ. It is both sad and joyous that so many of our rock and roll legends are aging but seem to be aging rather well. Many of those below are still performing at a very high level and it seems they might be able to go on forever.

These include (in no particular order)

Billy Joel 67

If I may be so bold, here are some take way thoughts:
1) Neither these guys or us are going to be around forever. All the more reason to enjoy life to it fullest every day. Hug your spouse and children often.
2) 60 is the new 40. Seriously.
3) Music keeps you young.
4) Doing drugs in moderation must keep you young!

The fact that Keith Richards is still alive, much less able to perform, may be even more amazing LOL

And we should probably remove Gregg Allman from that list; athough still alive, if he is able to perform again it will not be at a good level. However, there are plenty more; Hot Tuna as mentioned in another thread, Dead and Company, Sonny Rollins who finally retired in his 80's, etc.

What I get from this thread, is that we have to appreciate and enjoy these guys as long as we can.
This year has been particularly hard for the music industry...and for the many fans... with the loss of David Bowie,Prince, Glen Frey and too many others.

That would be a big list indeed...with all the people involved in the music business.

I think it's fantastic and a testament to their love of playing live to/for an audience that keeps them going. Many (most?) of these performers don't need the $.
