Hi,
I bought Wilson Audio Alexx speakers through a private sale. The speakers came from Canada. LMC is the dealer in Arizona for Wilson Audio. Since I did not buy the speakers from them, I'm hesitant to request their assistance in configuring my speakers. Can someone recommend an expert setup person to setup y Alexx Speakers in Arizona?

Regards,
Ravi

I bought a pair of Watt/Puppy 6's in 1999 and back then there was no local Wilson dealer. We had the living room remodeled in late 2021 and the local Wilson dealer was happy to come out and do a setup on them despite not having sold them. I of course had to pay them for the service, think it was around $425 (they billed by the hour). They also had a technician come out and replace the woofers (foam surround rot) and diffraction foam (also rotted).

You shouldn't have a problem getting your local Wilson dealer to come out and do a setup for whatever rate they charge, whether you bought the speakers from them or not.

Hello, If I may, I would suggest you give Stirling Trayle a call. He is excellent at system setup. He has setup several pairs of the master chronosonic. You can see several references to his work in TAS setting up systems for review. His webpage is audiosystemsoptimized.

As an aside I have no business affiliation with Mr. Trayle.

I don’t see any hint of pricing on his web site. Have you used his services or have any idea of pricing? For me, if it’s $2-$3K it’s one thing but if it’s $10K or $15K that’s something else and I wouldn’t want to waste his time asking.

I would give them a call and ask what they charge (if anything) to setup your speakers. Another option would be to follow the setup manual and just set them up to your liking. Only your ears will tell you what setup is right for you.

Last i knew he was in the $2k per day range plus travel. And a days work is in the 10-12 hour range depending on how complex the system is. When he is done you will be shocked.

My two cents is this
yes have someone who is proven set them up
give this person a complete list of your equipment
Room size and materials
have on hand some kind of acoustic absorption cheap stuff is fine
I’ve heard these many times only two times sounded great. one is a member here amazing sound and his room and his ocd is why lol.
lastly even if someone sets them up you must like the sound
Timbre , and dynamics is on him but overall tone is you.

Thanks, it sounds like he’s somewhat in my price range. I just didn’t want to take up his time if there was no chance of becoming a customer.

Ah! I took Phoenix from the thread title. I only asked because someone suggested Stirling Trayle to you. Stirling set up my system and he is a master! He was the best value of any “upgrade” I’ve done. He is a great guy, too. Enjoy your music!
