The SF Amati g5 is a $36k spkr vs 802 d3 at $18k. My amplifier is a McIntosh MC 901 pair of monos.
With that being said, the Bower speaker is a very good speaker. But I'm wondering how meaningful it would be to replace the bowers and upgrade to the Amati.
Maybe the amplifier potential will be better achieved through using the Amati. The Bowers is a very detailed speaker and using the 901 it delivers mid range and bass dynamically so that's not the issue. It would seem to be an issue of musicality and potentially less fatigue listening. As an aside, using the 901 in biamp mode definitely improves the potential of the Bower speaker. I use the speakers more for home theater listening with 30% for two channel.
Just curious what anyones thoughts are
