What is the point of going into this inapposite discussion?

Foil cables are not in issue here as I have been clear to point out the brands and models of the two speaker cables I have.

There are loads of random technical topics that could be dropped from the peanut gallery that none of my components or reports has anything to do with.
All good, I won't disturb your little universe with any more facts. Please delete. A little tip from me: I would consider whether 100 watts is really enough, given the efficiency of your speakers, to drive them sufficiently at louder volumes.

The Cardas Clear Beyond Fiasco was a valuable lesson regarding Bandwidth/Capacitance. I still use Cardas Clear Beyond Interconnects and have no gripes with Cardas. They remain a good company. As Brian explained not all amplifiers are a good match with the Clear Beyond Speaker Cables. Nils at Gryphon explained the design of the Clear Beyond is what Gryphon suggests to AVOID: "Avoid Coaxial Designs, Active Shielding, Or Special Filtering As These Can Interfere With Amplifier Speaker Interaction"

Ron @Ron Resnick I wouldn't have shared my experience if it wasn't "True" or "Valid". I didn't pull this out of thin air and carelessly share it. Let me know if you or anyone can find a Capacitance Rating on the Clear Beyond Speaker Cables. As I indicated the Cardas Clear Rating is available. Which at 278 pF (per foot) is high. Imagine if that was doubled...

What’s ridiculous is you persist even though you know very well that the amp in question is not all like the examples given of marginally stable, push pull Class AB, high negative feedback, solid state amplifiers.

If I understand Ralph’s argument on why to use a zobel, it is to flatten impedance to prevent frequency response change, not to prevent oscillation, which the MastersounD is in no danger of doing. A man with your knowledge and experience knows this but keeps the bizarre line of inquiry alive…why?

Again your usual style - trying to modify the content of the original post when answering. My point was mainly that with the needed proper technical data about the amplifier and speaker this is a simple issue. Besides , I was answering to a direct Ron question, no to Ralph comments. But surely, feel free to speculate...

If that was your main point you would not have taken things off on the oscillation tangent...

I am skeptical about this for any normal loudspeaker cable.

Can you please give us one or two specific amplifier/loudspeaker/speaker cable examples in which this happened?
I was merely responding to the question...Didn't mean to take this off topic...

Thank you. I apologize for questioning the veracity of the report.

I have been reporting my sonic impressions. I have not been asking for advice.

I think I was just getting a little annoyed with these examples of various issues which are not relevant to my particular components under review. There has been a lot of discussion of incompatibility between loudspeaker cables and solid-state amplifiers when I have not been reporting my sonic impressions of any solid-state amplifiers. (This also was Brad's point.)

Again, I apologize for expressing skepticism about your actual experience.

Get some reading glasses and read all the posts, not just a few, before making wrong guesses ... Ron and John T were debating this specific point.
I made no wrong guess and Ron was indeed annoyed with the discussion about amp oscillation, cable lengths etc.

Ron, Do you feel that your amps are now fully broken in? If they are, then that is one variable you can take off the table.

Well, Ron asked for it! I wrote my posts before he changed his mind ... ;)

To be precise I got a little annoyed about this discussion only insofar as it had no applicability to the components I have been reporting on.

how does that work?

on this forum reporting impressions = expecting advice/interpretations/ruminations. especially on this 'hang-out' thread how can you stop that without some sort of authoritative thread rule?

you need a private read only blog for that.

obviously for newbies we all behave and go very easy. but you are fair game.

Ron,

Sometimes you ask questions and post without understanding what you are technically referring to - the answers are just a consequence. I do not have data of your particular amplifiers, but found this curious picture about the Mastersound 845 Compact integrated.

https://www.stereophile.com/content/mastersound-845-compact-integrated-amplifier-measurements . Mastersound amplifiers are not typical tube amplifiers, IMO you should research them in particular, not generic solutions.

You insulted the commenters from “the peanut gallery.”

I’m finding it a little difficult to follow along the gist of the discussion. Are you still hearing brightness from your system and trying to determine its cause? I think I read that you have never been more satisfied with the sound of your system the way it currently is being presented in your room.

You asked if anyone is interested in the Jadis amplifiers. It seems to me that you’ve made your decision, for now at least, until you want to try yet another amplifier.

Sorry Ron, the forum has nice people who as good citizens do what someone would when they see a person in a mess

These 3 statements each address a different point that stands on its own as a post, all are spot on.
