Center Stage Feet have expanded applications

I placed 1.5 csg2 feet under my preamp, phono stage, and amps with the standard WOW effect others have described. Especially pleasing to me were a great increase in clarity, timbe, nuance, and bass.
Perviously I had Stillpoint footers but they actually sucked the life out of my music. The longer I listened to Stillpoints, the less I wanted to listen to music at all. Now with csg2 footers, all I want to do is play music.

I loved them so much, I have tried placing them under my 268 mit speaker cable boxes and have experienced the same improvements there as with my amps and preamps. I have ordered the new mit power console and I plans to use csg2 under these as well. I will report my results soon.

I have purchased 28 csg2 footers and plan to buy 4 more soon. They are the best value to enhance my over $600,000 system I have ever found

Steve, thanks for your feedback on the CMS Centre Stage footers. As a Stillpoints owner, I was curious to ask if you compared the CMS feet to the Ultra 6's? I currently use Ultra 6's + Ultra bases under my Vitus gear and power conditioner & have been very happy with the improvements. Cheers.

I did do the comparison as I was heavily invested in SP Ultra 5's and Ultra 6's. The SP's do a lot of things well but we quickly overlook what they do wrong and for my ears it was the fact that they robbed the music of ambient sound such that there was a total loss of that feeling of presence.Center Stage does not do that. In fact the name of the foot was "coined" because there is such a sense of presence that one gets the feeling of being immersed in the music and a feeling that you are so much closer to the music

Interesting, thanks Steve. Being heavily invested in U6's myself, that is a relevant comparison. Just to clarify, as there seems to be a couple of manufacturers making 'CentreStage' feet, were you referring to the Critical Mass Systems products?

There is only one company making Center Stage feet and that’s Critical Mass Systems which were initially distributed by Pitch Perfect Sound

Ah my bad! I mistook the Centre Stage Mk1 and Mk2 feet as being from different manufacturers.

I will at some point try a set of these, but still can’t get past a week or two of adjustment.

I do agree Stillpoints have plusses and minuses. I ended up pulling these off my speakers, (the place they say to start) and outboard power supply of my DAC.

Version 2 of Center Stage has a shorter settle in period than version one. The wait is worth it

Steve, it's almost as if v1 was a beta tester for final v2.

I mean, it took several years to develop v1, one of the main comments other than over a week needed to get them to sound of their best, and then in less than a year the new v2 are released, with the bedding in period now not such an issue.

It's the kind of thing that is normally highlighted by beta testers and addressed in the final released product.

Hi Spiritofmusic

Actually, we went through intensive beta-testing and changes to get to the V1. I can see how odd the V2 timing might have appeared, but I promise you that their was nothing untoward intended. The V2 improvement was completely counter-intuitive and it just "happened". It was so profound to my ear, I couldn't force myself to hold it back. FWIW, I see no pathway forward to improve CS2. I'm just like any other manufacturer who wants to be the best at what they do....tinker, tinker. But, the manufacturing and design precision required for a footer to help components reach/approach their performance potential is so damn elusive and demanding, that changes don't work. I hope this helps.

All the Best,

Joe

Steve coming back to your earlier response, I am satisfied the CS2 1.5's would have the wood on the Ultra 6's + Ultra bases, though I wanted to ask if you've compared the CS2 1.0's to the U6's + Ultra bases specifically? And if so, do they also out-perform the U6's in your opinion? Thanks.

Hi Steve, did you have ultra 5s under your speakers? If so did you change them out and use the Center Stage footers? If so was there any negatives, or was there improvement only? Thanks!

We compared Ultra 6 footers to the CS2 footers at an event I hosted with Joe L. - we had about 30 folks in attendance and the overwhelming consensus was that the CS2 (1.0 I believe) were superior to the Ultra 6 footers in every aspect. The footers in the comparison were placed under my DAC - an EMM Labs DAC2X v2.

We also compared them to Magico QPods with the same result.

Cheers, Joe
