New Delta D6 versus Used Denali 6000S V1

Hi to all! I am looking to upgrade my power conditioning from a Shunyata PS10 with Venom NR V10 to my Yamaha AS3000 amp and Venom 14 Digital to my Denon DCD 110 CD Player and Technics 1200GR.

I am looking to keep the conditioning around $3,000 or less. It looks like I can get a new or slightly used Delta D6 or an older Denali 6000 S. The Denali has the QR/BB and possibly better build. While the D6 sounds like it would have newer and possibly better filtering. Not sure which would be better overall.

While I do like the idea of a new Denali 6000 V2, I am trying to keep from busting my budget by that much at this point.

Any thoughts are appreciated

Thank You,

John

I had.contacted Shunyata to see if the Delta D6 would be an upgrade from my Denali 6000/s v1. The answer was no, it would not be. The Denali is part of the reference series so it has newer/better tech than the Delta D6. It surprised me to hear that the Delta was using older tech.

I love what my Denali v1 brought to my system.

Thank you for your reply. That is what I was looking for. For the same price, it looks like a Denali V1 is the best deal.

Thank You Again!

Put the amp on one of the bottom HC outlets. Experiment if you’d like any source better there because of extra large PSU.

And if you want to stretch a little, add a used Typhon QR, you won't be sorry.

Thanks for all your responses.

I will try out different outlets for my source equipment when I get it set up.

I didnt know you could add the Typhon to a Denali.

My next step is to find a power cable between the Denali and the wall outlet. I am thinking at least an Alpha V2. It seems much easier to find the NR cable than the recommended XC cables.

my advice? Take your time and get the XC cable. They recommend them for a reason. If you haven't tried hifishark.com, you can use it to set up a search for them. I just found an Alpha XC this week after running a search for a couple of weeks (sorry!).

I just picked up an original Typhon. It was a wonderful addition. It added physicality and weight, which are qualities I wouldn’t have expected from a power conditioner.

I had been using a Delta XC with my Denali v1. Caelin from Shunyata had recommended the Delta v2 lineup to me as a step up from the Alpha HC that I had been using. It was a great recommendation, but at the time I wasn’t powering my amp of the Denali. An Alpha XC would have been better for that.

As an FYI, I will soon be putting up for sale a Delta XC and a Delta v2 power cord. Send me a PM if you might be interested.

XC if you can swing it. Alpha is excellent, sigma even more so.
