A note that now niobium capacitors are also available.
Have these been tested by others to any good effect?
Wonder if you get a similar effect as the resistors changing oit wome niobium capacitors.
By your discription the niobium resistor changes seem be have a very large positive effect on...
Is your preference the standard niobium.
I cant tell, as all seems to be good in different ways.
I gather the niobium was used at the input it could be too much or less suitable for the outputs you would think?
How is the ongoing evaluation of the smoothlan this far.
Would ir require another good lan cable to make the bridging connection for what it brings.
Cost would quickly add up adding a nice lan cable to allow for the full benefits to be gained as i presume an investment for nice lan cable would...
Amir, i can only think of a handful for true 50/75 ohm high end custom produced digital cable.
They like you said have to be very accurately machine made in tight tolerances only acheivable in coaxial construction.
The brands that i can think of, Acorlink (oem - Esoteric rebranded), Black...
Wow, do the Omegas sound warmer than the Sigma V2 and on vocals?
I do use the Acrolinks, 3100, 5100 and 6100 as well as Sigma V1.
They are fuller and warmer and not as resolute as the Sigma V2.
The Sigma V1 are more warm and organic than the Acrolinks, but not as resolute.
They so far match...
Was this in a good way, can't really tell if you enjoyed the Omegas more.
Ihave the Sigma v1 clock cables and then the Sigma V2. Yes, it was clearer, more open and neutral. Bass definately loss heft, especially in the upper bass.
I never got around to like the sound, though objectively...
Michael,
It will be most interesting to everyone, i believe to debunk the network gemlins since you already have the TG Optical Bridge in place and thus, in theory, do not have any EMI , nasties or noise issues for the wider lan lines coming through to your steaming pathway for the Waversa...
Hi Macf,
Could you share more, i read that Boenicke uses also the speaker firewalls in his designs and maybe if there was any discussion on the Speaker bases in your conversations with Sven
I use them to very good effect together with thw 240x firewalls and looking to know what to expect from...
Thanks for the reply.
Interestingly, reading and it seems the 10x and speaker bases possibly are best place close to, above/below source equipments to get the most impact over any other placements.
That may prove very challenging or impossible for me.
macf,
Is the speaker base shipping as yet, it states on LL site that it is an early bird presales. How do you have a unit already?
Was it more impressive than the 10x ground?
Would it be much more challenging to intergrate a 12" sub with the 8" TAD's bass as i can imagine a 8" driver to be very much lighter and faster given the mass for a 12" subs driver, even the very fastest of larger subs i imagine will struggle to to keep up.
