I like both. They are different. Maybe the edge goes to Lou’s.

if you are in downtown Chicago make sure to exercise caution. It is not the same as it was pre Covid.
I also prefer Lou's.

2. MBL

I like theiir 101E which sounds very musical but wish to listen to therir larger model.

3. Martin Logan

It had been a while since I listened to Martin Logan, thus want to have update on their electrostatic speakers.

4. Clarisis speakeer

I wnat to find out how good this planar speaker is.

5. Wof von Langa

I wish to get a filed coild speakers most likely original or replica of Western Electric.

But I als want to find out how good it is.

I had also got very good impression of Songer Audio field coil units.

It will be nice if Voxactive also display field coil unts.

I have serious interest in this cross talke cancelling unit and Dac.

I wish to find out the effect myself.

There could be unexpected suprise as ohter audio show. ;)

I had lived in Chicago from 1998 to 2001 whete my son was born.

I had enjoyed nice audio shops over there.

I bought my Apogee Duetta Sig driven by Krell KSA 150.

It is one of the most musical audio system through my 45 years of Audiophile.

Hello Thomas,

Pizza-wise, last time I was downtown chicago, I had Pizano's pizza. Its owner is the step-son of Malnati, and Pizano's is better that Lou Malnati's - deep dish but less bready crust and better sauce than Lou's. Would highly recommend that place for anyone staying downtown.

Speaker-wise, as a Scaena owner, you also need to check out the Scaena room during your visit. The Scaena team has had the same room for a number of years now, so they know how to dial the system in. Definitely one of the highlights of the show for anyone who shares Harry Pearson's taste of the absolute sound, vs the hifi drek the analytical sound guys, who caged and castrated Harry Pearson, are proselytizing these days.

Also, the rooms sound best by Sunday. It's also less crowded on Sunday. so hopefully you can stick around that long

I will be going to AXPONA. If you have not been before, you are in for a treat. It is huge and there is a lot to see and hear. Lots of big rooms. It is actually hard to see everything in 3 days.

Based on your list and the fact that you own (or have owned) Apogee you may want to prepare your bank account. The Clarysis speakers are very impressive. Last year they had two rooms setup with them. I don't think anything can prepare a person for how much bass comes out of those panels. The Bacch SSP experience is very impressive as well. It produces a VERY wide soundstage. I would suggest either getting to the Bacch room very early or setting up an appointment as it is always busy and nobody wants to get up out of the center chair.

Hi Sbnx, I think you should get a booth for your speaker setup services expertise. Just teasing. :)

Of course, I will attend Scaena room to compare the sounds.

I will stay until Sunday but no time to drop at downtown Chicago.

Haven't been to an audio trade show in quite some time. I have family in Chicago so Axpona is no brainer for me.

Mainly interested in hearing the Goebel Divin Marquis with the Goebel Sovereign subwoofer if it will be there as well.

Goebel Sovereign is indeed a nice speaker which I listen to during Pacificaudiofest 2022.

But there are lot more to see.

There could be unexpected surprise! ;)

That was the Divin Noblesse. The Sovereign is a sub woofer with an 18 inch driver. I am not sure yet what we will show at Axpona 2024.

I also owned Apogee's with Krell amplification in the 80's and still cannot forget the enjoyment I got from them. have not heard the Clairysis but understand them to be very good. I have WVL Son' in my listening room and absolutely love them. Their larger speakers are also exceptional. Interesting that you are between high-efficiency field coils and panels. You might also add Diptique planars to your Axpona list as I'm hearing good things about them as well. Songer Audio will not be there but will be at SWAF with Trafomatic amplification and the new Lampizator Poseidon DAC. Not sure if they will be there again but you may also want to add Blumenhofer horns to the list.

While there I am going to visit my customer and friend Carmen Caruso for some music and Chicago baby back ribs:)

I'm not going. Sort of been there, done that. Nothing new to see. I'm not in the market for anything.

As a vendor, I am focusing on markets I have not seen. I will probably only do CEDIA this year.

Too bad, but I guess it makes sense. So I’m happy that after all your help I did get to meet you in person at the 2023 show, Rex! :D
