    Aavik I-880 Integrated

Please tell us more about the Aavik after one year. last weekend I listen to a big Aavik(SD+I-880)/Borresen M3/Ansuz system in a demo and it was absolute fantastic, so effortless, fast, dynamic, controlled and present, a real new experience of listening. Maybe any other owner of the big...

    My Little Barn

Just a small correction: the small monitor in Gabriel’s studio is not the 310 but the Neumann KH120, a fantastic little monitor for many years. A quite new, a slightly bigger one is the KH150, that is a little revolution in this range of monitors. Yes, I can absolutely recommend to listen to the...

    Audio Note Kondo IO-XP cartridge

Byrdparis, is there a kind of magic, that you don’t find with Etsuro Gold and Sumile? Do you like the IO-XP even without matching SFz SUT (at least i don’t find it in your list of gear) more and even “more magical” than your other really outstanding cartridges? But maybe you can have very good...

    Phasemation PP-2000 vs. Dynavector XV-1t

“I could not imagine…..“ “No need to spend….“ …maybe you should really try it and hear it for yourself to believe it. Maybe then you will willing to pay more for a cartridge, too. Maybe… But of course, cartridge/phonostage synergy is important in every price range.

    Audio Note Kondo IO-XP cartridge

Unfortunately I cannot read anything about the new Kondo cartridge. Nobody uses it in his system? Any listening experiences and comparisons to other excellent Japanese cartridges like Koetsu stonebody, MSL signature platinum, Air Tight, Sumile, Etsuro, Phasemation 2000 or 5000? Thanks a lot for...

    Wilson Audio Sasha V

I love to listen to my friend‘s system with Sasha Daw and now Mephisto Stereo, earlier with Diablo 300. The step from Diablo 300 to Athena+Mephisto was really astonishing big, much more substance in the bottom region, much more controlled. Never thought to have such a good hearable difference...

The New Acoustical System A*STELLAR turntable

https://audiocirc.com/2023/12/02/astellar-and-cart-protection/ i think, these are just pictures from the factory and audio shows, and he doesn’t have an A*Stellar on his own. (maybe not yet, who knows) But he uses many other Acoustical System products in his collection.

State-of-the-Art Recordings of Classical Works (SACDs)

The Shostakovich with Masur is really very good, today received and just heard. Thanks a lot. Maybe not as hard, dark and sarcastic as some other interpretations, more on the melodic and lighter side, but indeed very lively, well enlightened acoustics and good details.

Dear Yuen, please apologize my posting. I hesitate a long time to write it, but now I do it, sorry. (Tube) phono stage with multiple equalization curves

Congratulations for the nice AMR, that I always looked at…. Just one suggestion: try for nearly all stereo German pressed LPs till to the 90ies Teldec curve and reversed phase. Just as first step….

(Tube) phono stage with multiple equalization curves

Maybe you refer to Faber‘s Power. A fantastic company with very nice peoples, I have met them on a Hifi show. The phono stage is solid state, no remote control. Other nice gear for true mono playback is the Swedish Sentec EQ 10, or later EQ 11 phono stage. With tubes, no remote. Another...

    CD Transport vs Music Server

Hi Lloyd, as you know, I have the Zanden, too. But if I would compare a classic CD playback against a streamer, I would take a modern DAC. Of course it could be a R2R ladder DAC, maybe some tube DAC (Lampizaror maybe), but a solution with clocking and of course for high resolution, otherwise...

    Kondo Ongaku

Essrand, try to add some other Shindo and A23 gear to your system. Maybe first an amp, interconnect and speaker cables. All these add some significant magic in that direction. Shindo can be sonically very special, as special, as the structures in the dealer/distributor/service can unfortunately...
