Proof?
I think that is incredibly unlikely.
The problem with this is that it is really hard to categorically rule out alternative explanations, even if we haven't come up with any yet.
If credible observations are made of possible life or techno signatures, the next 10 or 20 years will probably...
The Brahms violin sonatas have a tendency to become too gooey and sentimental for my tastes, but Ilya Grubert and Elena Cherny here on RCA handle them with just that touch of coolness which becomes them well.
Poulenc - I'm with you there. To my ears an incongruous mixture of the interesting and the irritating!
And that is a mighty fine album of Mozart's string quartets.
My own experiences and preferences with quite a few midline DACs is that the newer, very much better specced DACs just don't provide what I want as musical entertainment.
I feel I could plot a straight-line graph of musical satisfaction decreasing as the spec improved!
For a while I was happy...

I prefer a mix&match approach.
My ears tell me that manufacturers usually have a distinctive 'house sound' (that can sometimes vary slowly with time).
I have found that with multiple components this distinctive sonic signature tends to multiply up, and what is an enjoyable sweetness in the...
An interesting topic that I have pondered on for quite a while.
Dynamics, frequency response / tonality; no problem.
But soundstaging / openness / spaciousness..... Hmm, not so easy it appears and not something I've seen those that like to measure address to any great extent.
I've certainly...
Mozart's piano quartets.
Walter Klien and the Amadeus string quartet on an old stereo DG album.
Marvellous music, this Oldie is far from the most transparent and natural recording of them, but for me the exuberant fluidity of the playing really brings out all aspects of the the music's...
Well, no, you don't need to have a ballet attached. In fact it's the only thing I listen to that has. But I find it interesting and enjoyable.
And it is a very fine performance of the Mass!
Like me, you probably don't have to be a particular fan of modern ballet to enjoy this performance of Mozart's wonderful C Minor Great Mass k427. I have it on DVD Video, but also available on YouTube.
It's interspersed with some generally short late 20thC pieces.
Recent discovery for me, Castelnuovo-Tedesco. 20thC Italian, moved to America midlife.
Excellent mainstream classical.
The piano quintets are both lovely works.
