Yes good solution
No not a two phase
I understand that you cant read German language
Let me translate what Papst said about the motors in the documentation
,,, Papst aussenlaufer motors were mainly build with three phase coils ,,
The Papst is a better motor then the E50 imho but you need to tune the phasecap with single phase drive for minimal vibration.
But as said earlier three-phase is the best solution , you never get a shaded pole motor quiet from itself , decoupling with springs gives is the best way to go.
As you know to find out what kind of motor it is you can use the motor itself as generator this is what I have done with the Thorens 902 5014 07 motor in the picture , 120 degr between the coils .
Also a statement from Papst itself that the motors have standard a three phase coils that can be...
Most Papst motors are build as three-phase as can be seen in the technical data sheets, a Bodine NYC-12 is a two-phase motor with two coils , Papst have three coils.
Yes the so called Steinmetz drive solution because turntables always were used on mains supply, vibration measurements shows the 100 hz (50hz drive ) vibration clearly.
With the 124 I use the mechanical speed change so no adjustment needed for the drive adjustment, small speed corrections are...
Sorry not similar the HAT powersupply is a analog oscillator with very low distorsion and a poweramp delivering a stable output voltage and frequency.
The Schopper is a variac with filtering so a passieve solution not a stable output and frequency and still to much distorsion ....
Volken
The revision was done for a customer who made his own console for it can't publish that .
But let me know when you are going to start with the revision the pictures showing the motor , main bearing and two pictures from the motor current spectrum the first is asis the motor does not lock on...
Jason I found the speed adjustment rather coarse difficult to adjust on the exact speed and it drifted some during testing , tension changed this this some what .
Also the centerpin is below spec. I measured 7.06 mm as a result of which my rumble jig can not be fixed, it also seems to give me...
I have measured the EMT 927 they are the best speed stability measurements so far , also my own 930 is very good specially with the clean 3 phase power supply I made for it.
Edward M. Long off Audio magazine USA started this kind off measurements in the heyday of the turntables.
Yes I...
They have been mistaken in the thickness of the centerpin, which is clearly below par. measured 7.06mm so I could not use my Thorens Messkoppler.
It also causes extra wow when not centered accurately !
At the same time, the speed control too coarse was very difficult to set up because the speed...
Just a measurement to see how a modern turntable compares against the old idlerwheel .
This one has a very low flutter components but speed stability could be better .
Yes sorry but I always measure this way because these single figures tell you nothing about were they come from .
Most times there is no mention about what record was used or what kind off filtering or level was used.
Here you can see that the flutter components are very low but speed...
Just finished some W@F measurements on the SPEC-8000 belt driven turntable , done with a Denon 3 KHz test record for speed and W@F , after this a rumble measure with the same record.
Pitty enough I could not use the Thorens messkoppler because the spindle diameter was 7.06mm so I could not fix...
The EMT927 motor current at 226 Volt is 0.173A about 39 VA .
The two vibration spectrum measurements show the asis vibration,, after tuning the phase network from the motor for min.vibration,, and with the 3 phase powersupply vibration .
Important for a sonic improvement is the use from a so...
