Obviously you have tailored your system to your personal tastes. I think most of us do even if we are not aware of it.
So just wondering if you had considered a SUT? I appreciate that the Mola Mola phono is likely next level but if you are hitting a max? I would go there first but of course I...
Don I will see what I can do.
To be honest I am not in the IPhone video camp. To me it seems rather counterintuitive to compare hi fidelity systems using the lowest common denominator. It does seem to be a thing so I should check it out but I haven't made the time at this point.
It is difficult to audition them as Coherent is a small company and basically relies on word of mouth. In talking to the designer just the other day he admitted that he didn't want to be to big.
As far as video I will have to figure that out.
I am looking forward to this years show. Is there a place/time at the show where WBF members meet at the show? It would be nice to put a face to the name so to speak.
Hi
I spoke with Frank Fazzalari the designer and master craftsman that builds the Coherent Speakers. He had a dealer in Norway but that person has retired. So unfortunately no one in Europe at this point.
The speakers are custom built so it isn't the type of speaker that is stocked at your...
Thank you. They are interesting and definitely worth a listen!
I will give the designer Frank Fazzalari a call and see if he has a dealer in Europe or perhaps a customer. Coherent Speakers are a very small operation so maybe not. Still I see they are getting some positive reviews from an Asian...
Is there a name for that show?
I was at the Highend Show in 2022 with friends. One of our group wandered off and discovered this offsite venue behind the MOC. He was impressed but the rest of us missed out. I will be attending again this year and will definitely plan to visit this offsite venue.
Outstanding response to my query. I was actually posing more of a general question but I appreciate you framing your response as you did. Your passion, expertise and integrity are impressive!
True on the arena venues but some artist can even conquer these spaces. Still it is not real and most popular music live recordings are in the mix and not what you might have heard when you attended.
I do agree that if you pay attention to the setup of your system/gear/ room you can enjoy and...
I would basically agree. The only quibble I would have is what is the sound of the real thing?
Our listening experiences and how we personally hear things has a lot to do with how we perceive and judge things.
In addition the media source we are listening to play a huge role in what we end...
Hmmm... I think I know what you are saying. it should be about the music and not about trying to divine the sound of the latest component you have added or equating quality with how much it cost, lol!
I wouldn't go back to that dealer either! There are some good ones though. Still at the end of the day it is is you that must decide what works for you.
I can't say I entirely disagree with your statement on how can a dealer be impartial.
However I would add that few people are completely impartial. The evidence of that is obvious when you read the comments of WBF members when they are commenting on components they own or have owned, hobbyists...
I have to agree with your assessment of the Solution gear. Having said that it was a very limited experience in what I would say was a poor room. Having not been in that room before I shouldn't assign blame still I was not impressed.
I like your attempt at explaining these concepts. Your conceptualization of things makes sense. Personal perception of course is always a wild card and it trumps everything! That's what makes things so complicated in system assessment and explaining our viewpoints. IMHO.
I would go with option 2.
Antipodes is nice I have the S Series I have heard their Oladra frequently at a friend's place, it is clearly a step or two beyond. Is Antipodes the best option? I certainly don't know but it would be an excellent start!
Not exactly clear on what you are using.
I would say that I used a VPI vacuum for years, it worked well as I was fastidious in trying to get the most out of this technique as I could, no regrets! Having said that I have now purchased an ultrasonic I won't be going back.
It is not faster...
