No mention of isolation, have you thought of Townshend bars/platform / Iso Acoustic Gaia feet or something similar for your speakers. Change of amplifier could be another way to go, I think you would have to draw up a shortlist and then go to a few demonstrations.
I have never heard so much tosh in my life. Feeling good, great surroundings, all add to the sq in your brain. I'm listening to music now through a great sounding system and it's great to look at as well.
I've just looked again on this thread and I can find no mention of the OP saying he appreciates vinyl playback, although I have just seen the thread 'Admitting my error'. All the OP's vinyl has been sold, the cost of replacing even his favourite 500 records would double his outlay for replacing...
Why would this up grade his already good system? The only thing I can see this doing is downgrading the op's bank account.
It's nearly two years since I sold off my analogue components and vinyl, couldn't be happier, especially since I now seem to have more time to listen to music.
I'm not a tyre kicker.
I'll guess you did not understand my post, or your point is?
Again, did you not understand my post, why would I need to read this?
You continually keep quoting my posts with no positivity and I can see no reason for it, hope you're not falling in love with me and want...
@b345t This statement came directly from Melco:-
The RJ45 connector carrying the Melco logo is the end that the shield (screen) is connected to and this should be connected at the product that is grounded, normally indicated by the presence of a 3 pin plug socket such as a IEC "kettle socket"...
@Republicoftexas69 I wasn't calling anyone names by using the word audiophools.
The system I'm looking at consists of Rossini Apex, Antipodes K50, Audionet Humboldt and Estelon speakers, I'll let you decide how revealing that is.
I certainly do not waste my time changing the direction of my cable, if the manufacturer marks directionality then I will follow their guide. Sorry but I don't understand the term 'gazeekee', but I don't usually put my finger up anything whilst listening to music.
I'm a happy music listener, I don't waste money on hifi when I cannot hear a difference. If I can hear an improvement I have to decide how much that improvement is worth, I may be better off saving my money an improving a different piece in my hifi chain.
@Republicoftexas69 Don't you believe in keeping the directionality the same, the gentleman from Melco told us they mark one end of their C100 cable not because it sounds better one way or the other, but to enable the customer to keep it the same direction no matter how many times you remove the...
Manufacturers probably mark directionality to keep audiophools happy, and it makes it easier when you change equipment, you know you are keeping the direction the same.
We received the NA Muon and have it playing in the system now. Earlier today we swopped and changed cables and although the Muon was preferred (very subtle improvement) on some tracks, on others they lost their sparkle and attack, so the Muon will be returned with the extra cable it came with...
On the advice of a friend I purchased a cheap unshielded CAT6 cable which replaced our Vodka between switch and streamer for the weekend. Today we changed back to the Vodka, the result was positive and the Vodka will be staying put at least for now. We have a Network Acoustic Muon arriving in...
@godofwealth Any thoughts of getting the Quad Rupert stands, I have mine on 60cm wide x 45cm high wooden stools and there is a nice improvement in sq. Fantastic speakers by the way.
@MarkusBarkus Thanks, I've never heard of DAC cable before, my concern is the connectors look different so I assume alterations have to be made somewhere along the line. You didn't say which switch you are using.
@jasbirnandra I've never heard of AAi cables ( I do live a sheltered life ). I...
@MarkusBarkus I only ever read good reports about BJC, I will bear them in mind for a future purchase should I need more cable. I only need fairly short lengths, 1 - 1.5m from router to switch and 0.5m switch to streamer. I'd be more interested to know thoughts on using non shielded cable...
@MarkusBarkus Thanks for your reply, I don't know how to tell if the shield is 'floating' on the Vodka cable. I've ordered 0.5m of CAT6 cable and will use this between the switch and the streamer (Antipodes K50) and put the Vodka cable between the router and switch.
Still interested in cables...
We are using a generic shielded cable from the router to a Cisco 2960 switch and a AQ Vodka from switch to streamer. We have been looking at replacing the switch and have been advised to run a short length of unshielded CAT6 from the switch to the streamer. The reasoning behind this, shielded...
Thanks for that, unfortunately I live in the UK so that would not be suitable due to voltage differences.
If anyone else knows where I might purchase one I'd be grateful.
