You can better your ground by adding but it should never ever be separate. They must be tied together!
If you are trying to better lightning protection, then tying in more ground rods is beneficial. But they must all be slaved together to that common point entrance. Due to attempting to...
Hi Don,
I installed a new MTR-10 many, many years ago. Didn't get to do any maintenance later on it to learn anything particular. But from other models, that'd suggest to me it is just a mechanical, probably lube issue. Might be an adjustment on a solenoid that could be involved, but I'd...
Somewhere on the web in the last couple of years, I ran across a mention in a thread, of a paper that talked about many types of distortions. I have not ever been able to find that paper or the mention of it again. Anyone know of it?
It was a fairly recent paper I think. What I liked was...
I wonder how much of this is due to her voice problems. Indeed, how much of the production used is to "help" her out in that regard.
If you've watched the Live performance, she was really fighting it at that time and trying to cast it off as nothing. If I'm not mistaken, it wasn't too long...
My perspective...
I have the luxury (??) of changing audio as part of my daily job. EI...I fold, spindle and mutilate to my choosing. I have been able to observe and question others over several decades now as to if they hear certain things, or not. What I have learned is that some aspects...
I'm looking at MQA as the digital comparable to Dolby NR.
Dolby was a complimentary process to lower the tape noise. MQA is targeting the reduction/elimination of encoder/decoder error is sort of a similar way. If it accomplishes that, then the audio in becomes more like the audio out...
So does the illusion get smashed going into that little hole on each side of my head? It must surely then.
Actually, those two holes are smaller than my speakers. Maybe I need to change that....

Electricians have told me that in businesses the lugs in all panels should all be tensioned on a regular basis. I think he said for sure, every couple years. I do not know if it's in the code or just good practice.
If you go down the lugs, you will almost always be able to tighten them...
Unlimited fidelity in 16 bit is great! But what's better yet, is even less yet limits with 96/24 and even more with 192/24!!
What's better listening than more than unlimited...?
CJ
I"ve done next to nothing with a USB stick so I can't directly relate personal experience on that specific question. But I don't think it's any problem to do 192 by USB.
I have burned to DVD high rez, even putting back to back different speed material which it didn't care about. Because...
I've played around with streaming to my Oppo 105 by OP. Both by commanding it from the Oppo RC and watching on a monitor or alternatively by commanding JRiver directly with my smart phone running an app.
Either way, the computer can be elsewhere in the house and the Oppo becomes the DAC...
I'm amazed that this thread has went this far and it hasn't been mentioned that Mr. Gideon was the one showing the incredible Voxativ Ampeggio speakers at some of the Axpona's last year, maybe all. I met him in Atlanta where it was being powered by a Fi amp.
Several of us thought it was...
A great experience for me was an afternoon spent playing with time alignment a few years back. I'll never question the value of time alignment again!
It was a two way design. JBL potatoe masher for highs and a Harry Olson titty driver for the rest in a sealed enclosure. We were able to...
Funniest line of the day!! Thanks for that one!!
Yes, I could live with that system. While many here are as you acknowledge, at a much higher price point, that looks like a nice little system! You can get very nice imaging from those monitors, I'm sure.
At least based on what can be...
Wouldn't the answer heavily depend on the radiation pattern of the speaker system used? And the distance between the drivers? The driver sizes used and how much beaming is occurring? Maybe even the crossover slope?

Is this one of the four measurements that reveals everything we've ever needed to know, to explain everything to do with audio??

PS...nice toy!!
Wow...this is really good news! Because I've been puzzling over how I can measure dynamics that occur with more than two indiependant frequencies. You know...more than just a single sinewave or two. Something more like what would happen when playing music. I really eager to dig down and see...
