Fellow members,
I'm considering selling my beloved Monitor Audio PL 300, that I believe need no introduction.
If you're looking for excellently built pair of speakers, with high resolution, ease, huge dynamics (thunderous power on the bass frequency range), a high level of transparency and...

Ok, so this is going to be a weird post on the classified section...
As of today, I'm looking to see if there is a market for my gear, so that I decide whether to proceed with another business or not.
I currently have a Synergy 2i in near, near, near mint condition (by my standards - MINT...
Hi,
I've been an happy owner of Jeff's Model 6's with the battery power supplies for quite some time now.
But I'm considering changing my speakers as I believe they've never been the correct match for these amps.
I'm also using a rowland pre, more precisely a Synergy IIi that I have intention...
I'm in for both geeks...
Let's see how they'll perform.
They're also providing upgrade perks for Femto clocking and linear power supply.
Quite an interesting approach to market.
Hope to see a more affordable version of the da Vinci dual dac soon.
No one ?
Seems like VEGA might lack some pedigree for most of WBF crowd.
I was hoping some of the more expert members had tried the vega up against other big name dacs...
Mytek had a shoot-out @ WBF... Let's hope for some user experience sharing...
Paaaaaardon me...
I thought it was all about the happy announcement of another high resolution music distributor and the quality and the discussion of what we all are consuming...
But ok...
Don't mind me...
No more comments ... on this thread!
Congrats Acoustic sounds for your initiative...
?
Was that comment related to my post? If so I don't see why?
Weren't we discussing high resolution music distribution?
Don't get me wrong... I applaud Acoustic Sounds initiative! I'm certain that the majority of the releases will be of great quality....
But weren't we discussing, once...
I'm not a professional on this industry but looking at mine I think that every distributors would gain quite a lot of customers if:
1- Simply supply information on the provenance of the source material!
Do you have any doubts that customers would by more 24/48 music if selled as it is and...
Hi Bruce,
I just saw that these recordings are already available on HDT but only as PCM.
The sampling frequencies made available suggest that these where converted from a DSD master.
Can you confirm? Did you use the Grimm A/D?
If so can you tell us if we'll ever have acces to the DSD encoded...
Any WBF readers out there with a Vega @ home?
I'd like to know your impressions as well.
There are a lot of reviews now of the vega over the web but I would like to know first hand experiences with the vega and its performance against other more "high-endish" DACs such as EMM Labs MA-1...
There are also other options on this non ultra-high-end DSD (in terms of price and not necessarily performance) capable dacs that could be taken into account, such as, just to name a few:
Exasound e20
Auralic Vega
resonance lab invicta
Upcoming Ayre QB-9 upgrade for DSD enable
And so many...
Hi, can anyone confirm if to fully realise the monotonic potential of DSD bitstream it should be converted using a true 1-bit 'bit converter' ?
I've been told that only the very first SACD players like the Sony's SCD-1 that I still own employed such device.
If that is true, then no matter what...
Has anyone tried the Mogami up against the vovox?
On gearslutz several users have claimed superiority of the vovox over the Mogami...
On of these days I'm buying a pair of Mogami XLR just to A/B it against my vovox s link and vovox sonorus.
I've considered the bada in the past but stricke it from my list for not doing DSD... The DACX2 would be my dream dac but Unfortunatly it's to much for my pocket.
Any results or decisions made?
I'm having more or less the same dilemma...
Would be great to have as much inputs as possible.
And why on earth don't pro and audiophile magazines ever review these new small contenders? Mytek, exasound, Resonessence Labs....?!!
Bruce,
Did you ever got a chance to try out a direct comparison between Mytek 192 DSD and exasound e20?
exasound e20 also seems a great "budget" option....
Have you had any contact with e20?
I don't live in Canada nor in the US so unfortunately I can't try the 30 day period trial...
Thank You!
Sorry.... forgot completely to introduce myself.
As already said on the Mytek thread, I've been reading this forum for quite some time now but hadn't ever participated.
Congratulations for this great forum. It's been a ride reading it.
Thank you for the warm welcome.
Hi,
Sorry where are my manners... I forgot do present myself.
I'm Jonathan, been reading this forum for quite some time now but made only two posts yet.
First of all, congrats on this great forum! It's been very interesting and very pedagogic.
Thank you for your reply Bruce. That is quite a...
I'm still not quite clear on myteks output balanced design. Can anyone confirm me if this unit is a truly balanced design?
Another thing that I'm a bit confused, with my setup, that is with Audionirvana+, I'm not able to have pure DSD (with all kernel bypass on the OS and the so called holly...
