    Remote

if you should end up with one of the newer remotes like this... They are now powered by one coin type battery. The life was maybe 4-5 months. When it started to fade the operation was erratic and self controlled. Just be prepared to change battery on a regular basis.

    Ground loop

My EE friend that rebuilt my ARC 610t amps and other things has mentioned grounding issues. In the 610t he found 3 ground loops in each. He commented, he has almost never worked on audio equipment that didn't have ground loops in the designs. He shakes his head and says it makes no sense it...

    Sonore network switch

I have been looking at network switches to replace my rather basic one. I noticed that Sonore is now offering a switch they say is built from scratch not a mod of another switch. It is the "exD konNET audio network switch". I can't seem to find anything on the internet about it, other than...

    Playback Designs MPD-8

I can’t imagine they’ve changed the cables connections. previously, you would push in on the connector and turn it left or right until it would unlock and then pull away from the equipment.

    Favorite Food?

Stone Crab Claws have amazing texture and flavor. They are only caught in the Gulf of Mexico from Oct 15 to May 15. The crab is caught and one claw is removed. It is then returned to the gulf and will re-grow the claw. If a crab is caught with only one functioning claw it is returned to the...

Advice on electrical circuit for Audio in new listening room

When I built my listening room I told my electrician I want #10 wire run to all of the outlets in the room. He pushed back a few times, telling me it was ridiculous and not needed. I finally told him it should not be of any concern of his if I wanted to be able to do welding in my room. He...

Advice on electrical circuit for Audio in new listening room

I'm not an electrician but, for the same reason you ideally keep all of the power for your equipment on a single phase on a typical panel in the USA. I would say yes. I don't know where you are located triode, though, I know some areas have 3 phase power.
