10 Favorite Tracks of All Time?

In no particular order, and this list could easily change week by week...

1) New Favorite - Alison Krauss & Union Station
2) Come On Come On - Mary Chapin Carpenter
3) And You And I - Yes
4) Playing For Time - Acoustic Alchemy
5) One Of These Days - Pink Floyd
6) Cinema Show - Genesis
7) Wind Up - Jethro Tull
8) Thank You (R.J. Reynolds) - Chris Jones
9) Argyle Bridge - Steve Strauss
10) Man-Erg - Van Der Graaf Generator

Like for others, just 10 is hard. My list (not in order)
1) Peter Gabriel: In your Eyes
2) Peter Gabriel: Solsbury Hill
3) Joshua Bell - Romance of the Violin (my favorite album overall so including it as one track)
4) Pink Floyd: Wish You Were Here (entire album again)
5) Roberta Flack: First Take: The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face (what a voice!)
6) Pat Metheny and Lyle Mays: As Falls Wichita: Ozark (the interplay of Mays on piano is extraordinary even in relation to all of Metheny and Mays body of work)
7) Philip Aaberg: High Plains: High Plains
8) Philip Aaberg: High Plains: Marias River Breakdown
9) Aaron Copland: Fanfare for the common man (listen to reference recordings by Minnesota Symphony)
10) Beethoven Piano Concertos 1-5 (love them all, take your pick though I have several favorites)
Bonus: 11) Strauss Four Last songs: Kiri Te Kanawa (though the recording and orchestra are mediocre, her singing is glorious)

Rather than attempt the hopeless task of selecting 10 tracks that I’d limit myself, here’s what the Golden Record on the Voyager spacecraft included as a sampling of the music of earth to any alien species that discovered the spacecraft. It’s the furthest man-made object flying in space that’s reached the outer limits of the solar system. It was launched in 1977.
