We all know that plenty is spent on equipment on WBF. Lets see how much new music is being bought and listened to.
Personally I bought about 135 albums in 2023 so far.

Album of the Year:
CASisDEAD - Famous Last Words - amazing hip hop/grime album on XL Recordings - the perfect blend of UK rapping with synth beats. Production is audiophile class and pressing is wonderful.

Albums of the Year (2023 release)

Iggy Pop - Every Loser - Iggy still has the power and the angst
A.A.Williams – As The Moon Rests - brilliant dark doom dream pop from a very talented lady.
Depeche Mode - Memento Mori - better than I had imagined
Phil Selway - Strange Dance - luvely quiet brood synth folk.
Andy Shauf - Norm - the best 70's singer songwriter you will gear in the 2020's.
Alison Goldfrapp - The Love Invention - pure electronic dance pop - production is pretty well prefect.
Rolling Stones - Hackney Diamonds - a bunch of 80 year old's have no right to be still doing quality rock n roll like this.
Kid Cudi - Entergalactic - huge album from Cudi
Lloyd Cole - On Pain - a rather quiet synth based affair from Lloyd.

Australian Album Releases of the Year - a great year for Aussie releases

Crooked Colours – Tomorrows - a more introspective down tempo album vs previous, but still hugely infectious.
Tropical **** Storm - Submersive Behaviour - Garth still creating chaos
Robert Forster - The Candle And The Flame - another quality album from Mr Go Between.
Jen Cloher - I Am The River, The River Is Me - the most honest Jen album so far.
Marlon Williams – My Boy - this album rocks and is Dynamic as hell.
The Church - The Hypnogogue - can Steve & the boys do anything wrong?
Boy & Bear - Boy & Bear - sounds like classic Boy & Bear - sweet as.
Jack Ladder - Tall Pop Syndrome - beautifully crafted album
Dope Lemon - Kimosabè - took a few listens until I got it.
Buzz Kull - Fascination - If you like 80's electro darkwave , u will luv this.

Albums of the Year, pre-2023 release but discovered this year

Aparte - albums Glass, Hands Rest & Alliance - this guys does electronic space better than anyone.
Kelly Lee Owens – discovered albums - self tilted, Inner Song & LP8 - electronic music with a bit of female soul.
Blue Note Tone Poets & Classic series - must have bought about 20 titles this year - not a bad one amongst them

Reissues:

Prince & The New Power Generation - Diamonds And Pearls (Super Deluxe Edition) Giant Box -
what can be said about the GOAT - superb.
All the Alva Noto + Ryuichi Sakamoto - Vrioon, Insen, utp_, Summvs - superb production and faultless pressings
Magnolia Electric Co. – Sojourner box set - beautiful box set from some obscure Jason releases.

Unconventional taste. I like CASisDEAD as a pick. A.A. Williams also a great release.

Nice list! I'm curious how you came across Abraham Alexander? I mastered that one and thought at the time "This guy is gonna be big!"
Bobby Harden is an old friend. I mixed an album of his maybe 14 years ago. Great voice and a great human.

All this tracking through new music has really helped me appreciate my digital rig. Good albums make digital sound just fine.
