"The new C-57 is a fully remodelled version of the C-47, combining the best of analogue technology and employing the latest circuits and high-quality sound elements to further enhance the appeal of analogue disc as the pinnacle of stereo phono amplifiers. The signal from a record player is so weak that it must be amplified by a phono equaliser amplifier to a voltage that can be handled by a preamplifier. However, phono equaliser amplifiers, which amplify extremely low signal levels, require amplifiers with low distortion, very low noise and good linearity from low to high frequencies. This amplifier is the ultimate in phono equaliser amplifiers and is capable of reproducing the full flavour and character of a wide range of cartridges and reproduces traditional analogue discs with high sound quality. The panel surface of the unit is based on a gold-toned panel face and the side panel surface is finished with natural wood grain, creating a graceful atmosphere and harmonising beautifully with existing products.
Main specifications

(1) High performance MC head amp circuit with new ANCC system.
Input conversion noise at MC: -156dBV (C-47: -155dBV)
Noise and distortion cancellation circuit with sub amplifier (new circuit different from conventional ANCC)
The secondary amplifier outputs the input/output error signal of the main amplifier and cancels noise (and other errors such as distortion) generated within the range enclosed by the secondary amplifier, including the thermal noise of the resistors.
Both the main and secondary amplifiers are balanced amplifiers.
The sub-amplifier is an ultra-low noise amplifier with a low impedance configuration using bipolar transistors.
The low power-supply voltage of the subamplifiers simultaneously realises improved performance and low-power consumption operation.
MC head amp gain is 50dB (equivalent to C-47).
The top panel has a new structure with a slit in order to suppress the entry of very small amounts of hum noise.

(2)A 60 Ω (MC) input load impedance has been added.
Selectable from 10/30/60/100/200/300/1kΩ for MC.
60Ω added between 30Ω and 100Ω to accommodate recent low-impedance MC cartridges.
Selectable from 1k/47k/100kΩ for MM.

(3) Design design reviewed from the operation system.
Symmetrical design with input selector on the left and load impedance selector on the right.
Improved operability of the load impedance selector and unification of the operation system with that of the preamplifier/pre-main amplifier.
Gold-plated pedestal (ring) around the selector.
Original selector with high rigidity and a special attention paid to the feel.

(4) Newly designed power circuit
Newly designed low-noise, high-regulation power circuit.
Newly designed low-voltage power supply with low noise specification for MC head amp sub-amps.
Newly designed transformer and block capacitors"

(5) Full balanced configuration (equivalent to C-47).
Independent MC/MM balanced head amps with dedicated design.
Low noise JFET input gain 20dB for MM head amp.
Balanced input/output RIAA equaliser amplifier

Thanks for posting. I'm using the phono stage in my Aavik C-380 and while it's good I've been thinking of upgrading to a stand alone. Nice system you have...

Hi, for sure a stand alone phono amp will elevate your system more than you think. Accuphase offer top replay and building quality at a great price point. My choice amongst demoed competitors 2-3 times the price. Be warned, 'burnin' time +300 hours, patience needed as it can initially be a bumpy ride. Hooking your signal to the balanced input will have noticeable SQ gains. Running Accuphase gear at maximum gain setting will reward in best SQ specially in dynamics without adding any negatives as their gear is super quiet.

Has it been confirmed that the E-57 will replace the E-47 or be a new model above it in the range?

It seem to be the case in Japan given some vendors announced it. Accuphase homepage jp/international does not reveal it yet...

It seems like it’s going to gradually replace it which leaves room for a more affordable model in the range.

The info from the jp vendors says it will be out May this year, in Japan first I guess….
