All New Vera-Fi Audio Swiss Digital Fuse Box With Core Power Piggy Tail Review : WOW !...

The SDFB is quite the trick. I have 4 in my systems and may add 2 more. Audiophile fuses never did much for me. Figured I would try this with one of my integrated amplifiers and wow! Also have 4 Puron filters, may try the Snubway in one of the systems.

Mine has replaced two $1,400 QSA RED/BLACK fuses on my Goldmund integrated amp.A completely new level of performance. Musical expressiveness is so enhanced that I hesitate to go on about other things but yes detail, space, tonal color but most of all PACE- I describe it as sounding like a 500 pound Linn turntable. The amp sounds quite literally 10 x as poweful. Two more on order!!!

Interestingly, SMc Audio is doing something like this using circuit breakers, my new build TLC-2 pre has no fuses. The DNA rebuilds are using a circuit breaker instead of the fuse on the back of the unit. They claim it sounds better and better protects the unit.

I have 3 with the top piggy tails. Well worth it. Just do it....

Hey all

So, I have 4 units all graphene. I have played with that vs copper. Graphene is more open and in the room while copper is more controlled and heavy/solid. Some might prefer in a phonostage

However - these are DIRECTIONAL. Somehow when they are in the right direction things are more calm, sophisticated and elegant. It’s kind of like when a radio is perfectly on the signal vs slightly off and you don’t realize it.

Still great but since I spent hours fiddling thought I would pass along. Mark might add.

These things are really wonderful.

I addes a pair to my burmester 218s, defiantly better, no brainer

Very much enjoying all of the positive comments on this and other threads here.

Best to all - Mark

All,

I wanted to take a moment to write what I hope is a helpful post. As you can see from my signature tag, I have a reasonably nice system; I have tried to take time to buy pieces that I love, regardless of cost. I am by nature a skeptical person, and have learned a ton from this community over the last 9 months.

The first lesson I devoutly believe in is people trade gear and "upgrade" without really ever spending the time to maximize the potential of their current gear.

Some people call these additions "tweaks", I call them tuning adjustments. Some have transformed my system to punch well, well above its weight and some have done nothing. I just tested an $18,000 power cable and spent enormous patient time evaluating and it was good not great, and was inferior in my system to my current loom. That is to say, I don't care about price, I care about what I hear with my ears, in my room, in my system. Music makes the soul complete and its incredibly important to my journey in life.

My first tuning adjustment was fuses. I replaced all stock fuses with SR purple and pink fuses. I spoke at length with many members of the community that are in the top quartile if not decile of respected participants in this hobby; folks that are (i) highly technical (ii) skeptical (iii) have great ears (iv) decades of experience so are not newbies. Some have had all range from Master to entry SR, different colors of QSA and stock.

We all honestly believe we have very revealing systems. If you choose the wrong fuses, and just go for the most expensive, my experience is that the mid range can get sucked out. The soundstage can get so large it becomes unmusical.

Enter an experiment: we all tried the Swiss Digital Fuse box.

The Setup
I will be honest; we did not use the piggy tail and have given Mark feedback that for me and others, the piggy introduced complexity with combining it with our hard chosen cables that we spend hours deliberating on. For some, the tone was off with the piggy introduced.

We purchased a $4 adaptor from Amazon and stuck one end into swiss digital and the other cable to component. European guys had another solution; some actually used extra cable to fine tune, but others avoided the need for an extra cable with a schuko adaptor.

The Results
The group was over the moon happy. The swiss digital has the soundstage of the Master without sucking out the midrange. One guy sent me a text "this a steup to all SR fuses, it went from catastrophic synthetic mess with piggy tail to a wonderful organic pleasure without. I get all the benefits of separation and space. The fuse box stays, sound is phenomenal. Open, spacious and beautiful. My system has never sounded better. Ordering 3 more. "

I personally now have swiss boxes in all of my components. All made large impact, and in particular, I swapped out an SR purple in S booster that powers switch and OMG, that was enormous and like the digital music took a shower. Separation, detail and clean but not sterile, it is musical and super engaging. Super natural, no artifice, large soundstage and great separation of instruments and detail but no remnant of audiophile austerity. I am looking for music not sound.

Recommendation
Mark seems to really care about his work and customers. Its a passion. He could sell for a lot higher price but he is a model for the industry as he tried to lower costs and pass on to customers so that they feel like the value received is greater than the price. This is what should be imho the goal of all individuals that sell to consumers, regardless of price.

So, get a box. He has a 30 day trial or full refund. To me, I cannot imagine a better asymmetric opportunity - you pay a small amount of money relative in this hobby and it either (i) does nothing in your system and you learned and no cash out or (ii) it transforms your system and you are super happy and it is not temporary as it does not ever blown out.

This is such a wonderful addition that has allowed my friends and I to advance our systems together on a small addition and supporting a company that is doing things correctly. All our systems are better off for this wonderful innovation.

Highly highly recommend. Run don't walk.

I’ve already used various after market fuses in my system (AM Ultimate Premier, AM M1, SR Orange, SR Purple, SR Pink, SR Master, Hifi-Tuning, Gustard, etc.). I really like the SR Purple, Pink and Master fuses and own many of these types. After reading a few reviews about the SDFB I ordered with the Graphene Sluggo for my Lampizator TRP II. The DAC reacts extremely to every tuning element, which is also the reason why I connected the SDFB to this device. To enjoy the full potential of the SDFB, you should either use an adapter from Schuko to IEC, plug the SDFB in and then use a good power cable from the SDFB to your device. Alternatively, you can also use two power cables - I opted for the second version. The result sounds very good. Everything seems to be bigger, the music gains even more dynamics, the spatial image sounds deeper and all frequencies are improved equally. You could say that the SDFB pushes an already very good sounding system to the next level in all aspects. In short: A highly recommended tuning at a very fair price

Can you provide a link?

Just wondering if any Schuko users out there have come up with an elegant/good quality solution to be able to use just one Schuko power cable.
Pics and links if you have them would be great.
The US socket on one side of the SDFB makes it a bit challenging for us.
Thanks!

European friends - here you go. An answer to all your prayers. Please report back with the magnitude of improvement

1. This on SDFB Output

And this into the power strip or wall to directly connect the fuse box there

Thanks Mr Miyagi for the suggestion!
Yes that's pretty much what I figured also.
Unfortunately two cheap adapters ain't pretty and may well reduce the benefit.
Anyway I will be trying this when the adapters arrive so it will be interesting to see how it compares to the combo of one cheaper cable and one good one.

Any other ideas?

Can’t speak for your system. Others using these adaptors are ordering more boxes and are extremely sophisticated

I also using adaptor and it still beats SR by wide margin
I’d love to try this, but in my case the SDFB is intended to plug directly into a dedicated outlet. So I think it would be tough to get it to hang from one of these things plugged into the outlet.

Probably I'll be experiencing exactly that challenge being plugged horizontally into my Ansuz Mainz.
But will try to support the structure to keep it level and under not too much pressure.

Have you compared the adapter .vs. pig tail solution?

On which component would you start and what progression would you take as you add a swiss fuse box to all components? TIA.
