Anything to report?

At least 4 rooms; Puget Sound Studios (x2), United Home Audio and Doshi Audio.

Yes, there was tape, but not as much as last year. Bruce brought his Studer A-80 with ½” heads and brought three ½ 15 ips compilation tapes that sounded outstanding. The Doshi room had a Technics deck playing back 15 ips 2 track tapes and that room sounded really good even though the Wilson speakers were far too big for the room. And last but not least, Greg from United Home had several of his highly modified Tascam decks spinning tape non-stop.

How was the Friday 12 pm tape seminar/talk?

It wasn't my cup of tea. No stereo system, no tape deck and a bunch of guys crowded into a small hotel room talking about VERY basic tape information.

Oh, it sounded damn good alright. I just think there was too much speaker and not enough room.

And it was playing classical music every time I went there. Since it was tape, I felt a bit awkward asking him to switch to rock or jazz, don't know, didn't want to ruin the flow :D

in the Evolution Acoustics room there was an Ampex ATR-102 playing tape from time to time.

i particularly liked the Shelby Lynne's 'Just a Little Lovin' in 15ips, 1/4". i know the Lp well, and the tape smokes it. the little MMOne's did a fantastic job. likley overall the best music/sound combo i heard at the show. it is all about the source....which trumps almost everything.

to be fair i did not hear the 1/2" tape on the Ushers in Bruce's room which i would assume would better it...although i easily prefer the Evolutions to those Ushers....but 1/2" tape is 1/2" tape too.;)

I liked BruceB room a lot! - after so many noise out there (including some ridiculously loud demos from some other manufacturers) I could go back n-times with Bruce for a listen!
