I notice these are being advertised as in stock, just wondering if anyone has heard one yet?

Not clear why some dealers are listing it as in stock since according to the AURALiC site "G3 products are expected to be available for shipping in mid-late 2024." Most recent update I heard as of a few weeks ago was that they're not even in production yet, with their G3 production facility in the US having yet to be built.

Which also explains the lack of reviews!

The same thing happened with the Innuos Pulsar.

This thing still hasn't been released!? Vapourware?

As a happy owner of the Aries G2.2, I have mixed feelings about this.

On the one hand I can understand customers having issues differentiating between the G2.2 and the G3. The looks would have been identical (from the front/sides at least) yet the price was nearly double, and they sort of had to get into the weeds to explain the improvements on the G3. Even so I suspect a lot of potential customers might find the G2.2 to be "good enough", especially if they didn't intend to use any of those digital inputs on the G3.

On the other hand, I would have liked to have an incremental upgrade path to stay in the Auralic family if I ever got the bug. As it stands the X3 is a totally different, all-in-one animal and not really a direct alternative/upgrade to the Aries G2.2. So for me the path would involve keeping the G2.2 and adding a Leo master clock and Sirius upsampling processor. Which may be a valid upgrade path, but with the rather large price and complexity of that combo I would definitely explore many other options first, whereas the Aries G3 would have been a more easy and logical one-step upgrade.

Since I acquired the Hifi Rose RS130 I've lost interest in the G3 anyway. Fantastic unit.

The streamer market is so big, there are many alternatives to Auralic in different price ranges

Indeed! But there is something comforting about having a readily available "step up" product similar to what you already own, but better. Makes it easy and smooth since you are already familiar with how everything works.

But you're right, lots of other great brands to explore if I ever feel like moving up again. I haven't had my Aries G2.2 all that long anyway so I'll stick with it for a while and see how things go. I'm not really the type to swap gear as often as some of my friends anyway. And when I do feel like messing around, I'll usually try some tube rolling or swap cables, that satisfies my curiosity without costing a fortune.

I have not yet listened to it but I am curious why the new Nagra streamer for 5k doesn't seem to be a bottleneck even in an Nagra Reference environment. The advantage of this device is also that you can use an external PS. There are reports that the in-built PS of Auralic devices is not SOTA...
