Anyone Use a Classe Delta Pre for Subwoofer Integration?

Hi All,
I am thinking about picking up a Classe Delta Pre as a clean way to do dual-sub integration. My setup is currently a straightforward: steamer —> DAC/pre —> amp —> speakers (Aurender, Benchmark, Burmester, Wilson). But integrating my subs (REL) has been a challenge to do while still maintaining the sound quality.

I bought a little WiiM Ultra to try some things: I found that using the line level feed with the preamp controlling the crossover for both mains and sub yielded much better integration. I also found that delaying the mains to match the sub output made quite a difference. Finally, using some simple PEQ for a couple of room modes really smoothed things out. All these were quite simple to do with the WiiiM.

The only problems using the WiiM were: it only has one sub output, and I have two subs; and the sound quality using the WiiM, either using digital or analog outputs, just wasn’t as pleasing as my stock setup.

So I have been hunting solutions that might work. A a MiniDSP SHD Studio would do the trick functionally, but I haven’t liked the MiniDSP products I have owned before. There is a nice Accuphase unit for active speaker crossover, but the it requires using an analog preamp for volume control.

The Classe Delta Pre looks like the ideal all-in-one package that would provide crossovers, time alignment, PEQ, DAC, and volume control already integrated. But the DSP would have to be very clean, and the DAC would have to be as good or better than my Benchmark DAC3.

Have any of you used the Classe like this? Any thoughts or opinions?
Thanks much!
