Aqua La Scala Mk 3 Optologic

Great news, hopefully upgrades for the Formula will be coming in 2025.
Last update was v2 in 2019.

Hi All

Am pumped that Aqua Hifi has announced the new La Scala MK3, news was taken from Mono & Stereo

As a happy owner of the MK2 La Scala am very enthusiastic and have already reached out to the dealer that I would like to upgrade as well.
Interesting that there was not an earlier announcement from the manufacturer/distributor via this forum but I’d be interested to know more about the cost of this upgrade.

Very excited. I was just about to list my La Scala and buy a used Formula, but I‘ll definitely do this upgrade first.

Already reached out to Christian at Aqua for more details, looks like a simple switch of the PCB with the tubes that has the new PIBU module installed...definitely getting this upgrade, Aqua make great products especially given the value proposition

My Aqua La Scala - when I upgraded to NOS tubes - easily performs outside its price point.

Totally Agree, and if you get some proper old school tubes, it utterly elevates this Dac to another whole level, really very excited on this newly announced upgrade, along with my LINQ with HQPlayer, they perform in a supreme and synergistic fashion, my last component was a T+A SDV 3100 HV streamer Dac, the Aqua combo wins hands down at roughly half the value....though I love my T+A Soli P Cans...

Interesting- did Cristian say if the upgrade can be performed by the end user or does the dac have to be shipped to Italy? Any mention of the overall cost of the boards? Is there a firmware revision that goes along with it?

Be sure to let us know what you think of the upgrade.

Elite Audio Upgade Overview is a 10 min YouTube reel that goes through the press release info. Mark goes on to say that in the UK, the upgrade will 2950 pounds and requires shipping back to Italy. Cost and logistics will vary from country to country, I’m sure.

Just heard back from Aqua and I was qouted the following price to upgrade , € 2350 + VAT 22% + shipping fee (from Portugal), when I get the opportunity of visiting my friends at Ultimate Audio in the near future I will be undertaking this upgrade....very reasonable I think...

I just got news from the Singapore dealer that the upgrade will start in Feb 2025 and Aqua will check the serial number of the devices first.

Haven't got the cost yet but from the responses here seems pretty decent. Definitely going with this.

Did anybody hear/see it in Bristol this weekend?!

It seems like nobody was able to listen to this MKIII version, yet? I can´t find any reviews, either.
