Audiophiles in Austin, TX, Please Check In!

Any of you Texans have heard the Sadurni horns? I believe they're made in your good state.

Would love feedback on these.

Very nice sounding. I would say equipment and room has a large influence. Defiantly worth a listen in person.

Oh sure, as is the case with all gear. Indeed, the better the gear, the more dramatic the better room becomes.

Hi, I am in Austin and have been a little active in the audiophile scene, where I find very different systems and some very interesting people. Of course the pandemic slowed audio reunions but gave us the time to try and test things some even daring or complicated. We are still making horns better than ever, mostly custom orders.

Spiritofmusic I will send you a PM

Jorge, have PMd you back. Glad to hear you're keeping busy.

How nice to stumble on this thread. I just returned to Austin, after living in Boston for the past year. I haven't really been involved in the audio community for a while. I do know that there are still some good like minded people in the area - into good music and cool gear. If someone is trying to organize please do PM me.

Welcome to Austin. I am very close to downtown Austin (not in the Hill Country).
I think the Austin audiophile community is larger than what most people think, it's just that not many of the local enthusiasts do alot of posting on audio web sites. But there are a wide range of very good audio systems here. Also, we have increased our local dealers here and now have 4 dealers with real brick and mortar locations - Tweek Geek in Dripping Springs (moved here from Colorado), Origin HI FI in North Austin, Sound Sanctuary of Austin in central Austin, and Whetstone Audio in East Austin. There are some home based dealers as well - Believe Hi FI in Hutto for example (north of Austin).
I think you will find it to be a fairly vibrant audio community once you are here and settled.

Thanks,
Arnie
Don't forget Audio Systems on Koenig.

Mark sold Audio Systems a few years ago. They changed their name and by looking at their web site are now into home automation and commercial installs. If you look further north Origin HiFi has some really nice showrooms/gear and have been hosting monthly meetings.

Thank you, wow, I was just there a year ago. The old website is still up. When I was there still had a descent selection of audio gear and choices. One of the original employees was still there. I guess the other guy, was the owner and that is why he is not there any more.
