Is anybody using one, particularly with a regenerator?

I’m thinking of buying a Balanced Transformer to put either before the regenerator or after.

What are people’s thoughts on this?

I use a Symmetrica from Z-Axis and it was a decent step up from the Shunyata Typhoon it replaced, with the added benefit it has 10 outlets. One interesting benefit of going balanced in my system is that grounding seems to have very limited impact, which saves a bunch of money!

IME - it would be better to know what the problem is that “needs a fixen”.
If there is no hum, or inaudible hum, then maybe it doesn’t solve a problem.

At least if there is some measurable distortion, like I have, but it is not audible, then it seems like it could be worth looking at.

Are these the things that remove DC bias?
If you have transformers in gear, then some types can hum when there is a DC bias present.

I’m just looking to see if it’s possible to lower the noise floor further. I’ve a few plug in mains filters and the regenerator which all helped greatly. I’ve also a few ground boxes.

Isoclean transformers are balanced. I have not tried a lot, but true syne wave UPS, smaller PS Audio, SR box, etc did not do the trick in my system. Isoclean was a clear improvement (transparency, deep bass, etc). I have read most USA people have moved on from…

If I were to build a battery power supply and use a 10,000 watt pure sine wave inverter, I would take the 50A 240 volt output to a Torus WM45BAL or WM60BAL transformer.

I would not use a Torus RM20 with a Shunyata, Audioquest PS Audio.etc.

Personally use two isolation transformers, an Equi=Tech and Balanced Power Technologies 3.5 Sig Plus.
Also have a balanced components with XLR connections throughout. No regenerator though. Common mode rejection in the cables being one benefit. Have one long run of 30 feet. The isolation transformers seem to help provide depth to the soundstage.

I am considering a WM45 BAL

My property has its own transformer (not shared with neighbors), which is 420feet from where the sub panel/wm45 would be installed I the house very close to the stereo system.

This is in NewMexico, but I will run European cables as they have 6AWG solid core (called 16RE, where 16 is square millimeters).

My plan is further that the WM45 will get its own dedicated ground as close as possible just outside the house.

Hence, would you agree that I only need two cables, one for each phase, from the main entry panel to the WM45. And can skip the additional ground from the main panel as it has no place to attach in the house?
