Classic Rock Friday Night

Please join The Audio Company, the Valve Amplification Company, and Von Schweikert Audio Friday night, November 1st, in the Potomac Room at 10:00 PM sharp, as Greg Weaver hosts the playing of David Bowie’s Glam Rock masterpiece, “The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars,” from start to finish on one of the most unfailingly musical sound systems available today.
Come by and hear for yourself why Greg feels that the fifth studio album from the über influential and then still ascending rocker David Bowie, is the most significant, influential, and meaningful glam rock release of the first half of its decade. Greg will give us a listen to his personal 1981 Mobile Fidelity Sound Labs Half Speed master release, which he feels is the quietest, most dynamic, most extended, and spacious sounding copy of this LP he has found over the past 47 years!

If you know this record, you owe it to yourself to hear it presented like this! If you don’t know it, come hear why it was the blockbuster rock release of the summer of 1972 and set the bar for an entire genre of Rock for decades! Regardless, hearing such an exceptional pressing of an iconic and monumental Rock and Roll classic on a world-class system is a singular opportunity, one you may not soon have again, and is exactly why you bought a ticket to Capital Audiofest in the first place! Be sure to join us for this one-of-a-kind listening experience Friday night!
See you there!

Set-The-Clock-Back Listening Event - An Evening of Exceptional Recordings – Saturday Night

Please join The Audio Company, the Valve Amplification Company, and Von Schweikert Audio for an evening of exceptional music playback presented by renowned audiophile and industry journalist, Greg Weaver (senior writer and editor for The Absolute Sound, Enjoy the Music, and Positive Feedback), Saturday November 2nd, in the Potomac Room from 8:00 PM until midnight (or whenever…we played until 1:30 AM in 2017 when the Bar Manager asked us to give it a rest! ;-D).

In what has become a tradition now in its third year, Greg will spend the evening sharing cuts from some of his favorite and most amazing sounding LPs on one of the most unfailingly musical sound systems available today. Greg plays hand-picked pressings from his own collection of some of the most remarkable and impressive rock and classical recordings ever released, all chosen for their social and sonic merit, based on their significance, dynamics, frequency extension, tonal richness, staging, and imaging characteristics.

Over the past three years, this listening session has been touted by industry members and show-goers alike as the highlight of their show experience, and this year promises to be bigger and better than ever.

This is usually an SRO (Standing Room Only) event, so come early enough to get a great seat, and plan to stay late with us… Remember, the clocks “fall back” an hour Sunday morning at 2:00 AM ET, so you’ll get an extra hour to sleep in Sunday morning before the last day of the show!

See you there!
