Hero cat. I've seen it too many times to count but I want to see the cat hitting that dog again and again. I mean... wow. It charged and hit it so hard, it flung it back several feet, then chased it off. It wasn't stupid though. When the dog left the yard, the cat doubled back under the car where the dog wouldn't be able to reach it.

Unprovoked dog attack. Truly sucks. Glad the dog was put down after.
My daughter went through something similar, but with an Akida (big mutha of a dog). She was staying at her uncle's house overnight and playing with the dog that evening. The next morning she woke up and went to the bathroom and the dog cornered her in the hallway and bit her arm. He then jumped up on the wall to go for her face and she went down on all 4's, crawled under him and into the bathroom where she closed the door.
It happened so fast, she said. She reacted quickly and well. Of course my brother in law didn't think the dog should be put down, and to this day my wife's family makes excuses for that dog and what he did. They do put him in the garage when anyone comes over but it is a sore spot between us for sure. Family, what are you going to do.
We have a dog and she loved him dearly, so it didn't sour her on pets in general. But she could never watch a cujo like movie again, or anything like a wildlife show with natural wolf attacks.
