Andre-I hope I don't get "board" because that would mean I'm stiff and usually if you are stiff, you are dead. Seriously, I definitely plan on visiting you in the spring/early summer time frame. I'm looking forward to hanging with you and hearing your system.
Congratulations Marky Mark! The Ref 75 is my favorite ARC amp, EVER. Looking forward to watching your video of the KOs, with your huge feet in the foreground of course!

El Oh El! Guess when I'm too tired to go to the symphony and reschedule my tickets to one of my favorite performances of Bruckner's 7th for a different performance at a later date, it should tell me I probably shouldn't post quickly. Of course, I could have tried to turn this "board" thing into a "Mark doing the planking fad in the audio room while waiting for speakers" bit but I'm too tired to even try that one...
On the up side I'll get to see Midori and the Orchestral Suite from The Ring in two weeks.
Mep, I think you will REALLY like the silk dome tweets that the KO utilizes. Tubes and silk domes are a great match IMO. You may even come over to the silk dome camp, LOL.

Davey-Silk domes have been around since the Dead Sea was only sick. I have built many speakers using the Dynaudio D-28 back in the day (the Dead Sea was running a fever then). I have been told on this very thread that I'm dogmatic and inflexible, but when it comes to what tweeters are made of, that's really not true.
the buzz on both pieces was too great to ignore, especially the ref 75. I need to hear the KO again, its still a possibility for me. I was circling around a used pair at a giveaway price but I was too slow at the switch.

Nothing concrete yet. I have a pair of MIT S1.3 10' biwire cables that I was using. I need to move them down the street. Carl advises I buy his Blue Thunder speaker cables unless I can spring for Valhalla II cables because he said it will take the Valhalla cables to beat his. I'm still pondering what to do.
I wonder if Magnepan would feel the same? Magnepan recommends SS amps to drive their speakers and not just any old SS amps. They want SS amps with beefy power supplies that can double the output power with each halving of the impedance and tubes don't fit that equation.

I don't know about that. The two companies have had a long and storied history together. Not to mention that Dave Gordon at ARC was formerly the Nat. Sales Mgr. many years ago at Magnepan. Last I heard, ARC used Maggies in their listening room.
Funny thing, the only speaker that might benefit from ss amps are the big MG20.7s. The other speakers are an easy 4 ohm load and cj amps have long sounded wonderful on Magnepans.
I also think you're taking their statements out of context. The doubling down refers to ss quality, eg. the use of receivers more than I think a condemnation of tubes on their speakers.
