I recently purchased Fir Audio Xenon6 IEMs for use with my DCS Lina headphone stack. I use hearing aids when using my headphones but obviously can’t use the hearing aids with IEMs. Using the peq suite with Roon was a big help. But recently I asked ChatGPT what is best way to use peq with IEMS. It asked me to upload a pdf of my audiogram and asked for what Dac and IEMs I was using. It calculated the db boost for six frequency bands taking into account my personal audiogram, Dac and IEMs. Then it was easy to make a peq curve in Roon based on the recommendations. I’ll have to tweak by ear but very pleased with the process. Another good use for ChatGPT.IMG_1360.png

I love Chat GPT.
It expands my mind every time I interact with it.
I see it as an extension of us, not as alien other.
Right now is as limited as it will ever be.
I’ve been having an ongoing conversation with it about cartridges and phonostages in the context of my system and my goals.
It gets a lot of details wrong when it comes to equipment specs and whatnot but it’s still the best source of advice I’ve encountered. It is a conglomerate of all the wisdom ever recorded about everything. I asked it to slow down and seek better sources, double or triple check its information. It did. Who else would do that?

Learning to prompt it is the key. It’s not just a really smart search engine. Ask it to be something like a Zen Master and then ask you questions to help you understand existence. It can actually do that with deep profundity. As the conversation progresses it just gets deeper.

are you guys aware of this rule?

i am not a mod this is just an FYI comment. i do think this rule should be added to the TOS if it's going to be enforced as otherwise members will not know about it unless they randomly happened to know about that other thread.

I understand not wanting ai generated verbal material. But sharing an arguably medically relevant table of frequencies in the context of showing how the ai can be employed in service seems like a different thing. As for my post. I wrote the whole thing.

I agree. I think people should be open to and also share how they are USING AI to improve their systems. For example. What if someone posts how they are using an AI and REW to help position speakers. Or how they use an AI and REW to calibrate subwoofers for better integration. There are lots of ways AI can be used and I hope we share the process. Maybe an AI can be used to listen for resonant frequencies of platforms and the equipment on them allowing for precise selection of footers to minimize vibrations.

I think the objections to AI are more centered around using it to compose your thoughts or give technical analysis. AI are consistently wrong in this regards. Quoting an AI and presenting it like fact is wrong to do in my mind. But explaining how one is USING an AI to perform calculation or assist in a process is different and a benefit. IMO.

Yes, I think the rule as written is reasonable. Im quite certain my post describing how I used AI to develop a peq curve has nothing to do with a rule that says you can’t post AI generated content as one’s own words. I would hope others will post how they are using AI to optimize their audio and I would think the members here would agree.

I agree that talking about what you do is okay and that is not what's at issue. It is the inclusion of AI generated content.which appears to be what is in your opening post under the heading 'ChatGPT'. That appearance is what prompted responses. I don't know if that is what was done, but it appears that way.
