Thanks again. l tried to find someone who would be prepared to do preconditioning for new KT 88 tubes that l want to buy, but no luck. Would you have any ideas? Thanks.

You can do it by putting them in the amplifier and running it in Standby, which is to say without B+ applied to the tubes. If the amplifier does not have a Standby function then its a bit of a trick. The next thing I would do is find out if the amp has a separate fuse for the B+. If so you could remove it and that would work also. The tubes need to be preconditioned for at least 72 hours.
