DAC's Which Convert PCM to DSD

So in a setup using Auralic Aries as a streamer, with the library residing on external USB drives linked to a core 2 duo MacBook, is there scope for using HQ Player?

If so, how would that work?

If not, can that be availed of only if Auralic provides a firmware upgrade for HQ Player support?

Thanks

Auralic has its own playback s/w, HQP is a playback software like Jriver for PC/mac, not for Auralic. If you have Aurender or Auralic you don't need it. If you want to play DSD, just wait for the Auralic upgrade

If this announcement is correct that Aries will be Roon compatible, http://www.digitalaudioreview.net/2016/01/auralic-to-add-mqa-roonready-to-aries-at-ces-2016/, then it should work just like I explained to Mike. Since Roon supports sending data to and from HQPlayer, that functionality will be transparent to Aries. Roon for example can send PCM to HQPlayer to convert to DSD and send back to it, which it then in turns sends to Aries for output.

All in theory without me having any of this setup other than Roon :).
