Been lurking for awhile but this is my first post - please be gentle with me.

I think I know the answer to my question, but here goes...

My VTL 7.5 III is connected to my NHB-108 using XLR. Would it be a waste of time, effort, and money to connect the VTL to DartZeel using a XLR to BNC adapter + Zeel connector?

My suspicions are it WOULD be a waste of time, effort and money, but what do I know? Has anyone attempted it?

Welcome to WBF, elrod!

The VTL 7.5 III can't drive 50 ohms. It has output capacitors, it can't even drive properly a 600 ohm load. You would get a roll off around 200 Hz in the Zeel connector mode.
From the VTL manual:

Output Impedance
25 Ohms (Max 150 ohms at 10Hz)

I hope this is the answer you were expecting! ;)

Thank you for the replies! Yes, that was the answer I didn't know I was looking for. Plus, I've learned that I need to read the owners manual better!
