Hi all,

My dad, who was a serious audiophile, sadly passed away recently. I helped him sell off some of his equipment later in life as he started losing his hearing. One piece remaining that I can't find much info about is an Enlightened Audio Designs DSP-7000 and I was hoping some of the experts on this forum might be able to share some insights.

Some other info:
- Front is marked Series III
- Back has a hand-written serial number 030400 II

Any insights on this would be appreciated. Right now, it's just sitting in my basement.

Thank you!

@jmann, condolences for your loss. That was a great DAC back in its day. I had one. It used a Burr Brown PCM-63K DAC chip, IMO the best chip of its day. Noble Electronics (if they’re still out there) is run by a former EAD engineer and he offered a number of upgrades to the 7000 that could make it a nice DAC for someone who likes that musical PCM-63K sound. I may still have the manual for it. :) From the serial number you posted it sounds like it may have been a MkII that was upgraded to a MkIII.

Thank you very much for the information, tony22, and for your kind words. This is really helpful. I'll likely post it for sale, I hope someone who understands and appreciates what it is (or could be) can find it.

Good luck. Does it have the black front panel or the gold plated front panel?
