From Harbeth to Odeon La Boheme?

Someone offered me a trade for his Odeon La Boheme speakers for my Harbeth SHL5+ XD for my second system, pair with a SPEC Real Sound amplifier and SPEC DAC.

Does it worth? What would be differences in sound presentation or qualities?

Unless your room is too small for the La Bohemes, that would seem like a “no brainer” to me? What you might give up slightly in midrange opulence, you'll gain considerably in dynamic agility and the ability to portray bass driven music with greater impact. Could be! Found SPEC and Harbeth a little boomy and laid back, lost all the magic from Harbeth, however listened SPEC with Lansche and was pretty awesome, dealer told me that Odeon and SPEC is a nice pairing tho.

You meant better? I always come back to Harbeth when things get stressed with too many tests of gear, is a blessing but not good pairing with SPEC, so maybe change the amp is the wise choice instead of speakers…

I own Odeon La Bohemes and they are truly amazing sounding speakers. They will run rings around the Harbeths. The realism in the high frequencies is hard to beat and the bass is super fast and very punchy...great impact with drums.

Oh, and you will need a good tube amp, forget SPEC. Either a mid power SET or a push/pull triode amp will give you a sound that will compete with some of the best.

Ah, you have Diesis speakers as well? What model? I like the sound of those... SPEC is not an amp brand that is really on most people's radar...not that they are bad, I think they are largely unknown. Isn't it Class D?

yes too boomy just return it to the dealer; for the second system, will go another way.

I have Diesis Ludos, Diesis MUSICA class A hybrid integrated amplifier and Aqua La Scala MKII DAC as my main system, amazing, thinking in try the VIVA Solistino or Solista
