You have one ?

I have connect a Furutech Flux 50 NCF between the live-power and a basic power cord.
I have better bass but I lost the 3D sound. It is not expansed like before.
That's Vincent told me : be carefull with filter, this takes away from the dynamic range and the 3D soundstage.
I can say he's right.
So, now, I have just the basic power cord before the live-power.

I have tested this drive with the AES TotalDac cable. It is a recommendation from TotalDac.
I can affirm this cable is better than my Furutech Digiflux NCF in that setup.

Today, I have connected the TotalDac d1-CD CD transport with the Diamond Swisscable power cord. This Diamond Swisscable power cord is connected to the Furutech Pure Power 6E NCF. I just can say It's nothing but happiness...

The soundstage expands. The separation of instruments is more pronounced, while remaining warm and not analytical. The vocals on the King of Convenience album are very distinct, and the stage presence of the two guitarists is perfectly mastered.
Curiously, the Furutech Flux 50 NCF has a negative value on TotalDac transport.

The Furutech Pure Power 6E NCF highlights the transport qualities of the TotalDac.

No. But I am a long time YBA user for example and in my experience all gears work best with their own factory cables.
Did you try one?
No, my system is the only optimized by me and some advices from my friends or dealers..

A friend came to listen to the TotalDac CD transport. He was able to compare it with the Esoteric K-03XS . He said: there is no picture, it is as if a veil rose, it is as if the fog disappeared. Everything is sharper, everything is better turned, the voices, the instruments , the choirs, the music fills the room, a beautiful 3D feeling that is absent from the Esoteric

For informations, I have test Grimm CC1 between the d1-CD transport and the Mark Levinson N360S.
I stay just with the d1-CD transport and the Mark Levinson N360S.
I can't explain why, but I prefer listen it without the Grimm CC1.
With the Esoteric K-03XS, I prefer listen it with the Grimm CC1 between the K-03XS and the Mark Levinson N360S.

I have a great advice.
Don't try to listen the TotalDac d1CD transport in your system, you will keep it !!!!

Probably because the d1-cd has Femto 44 clock inside that’s even a better synchronise with the cd transport compare the CC1

Congrats! Beautiful transport! Is the display dimmable?
sorry, I have forget to give you the answer.
Thz display is always on.

Four months with the TotalDac D1-CD transport, after some test with tweaks, I will let this transport with the original foots.
I have test Ansuz Darkz DTC, Nordost Kone TC,AC, BC and Qpoint too...
It's better with because I have a lot of detail, but I lost the density of the sound...I would say, the transport, without this tweaks , is very musical and I lost this when I try some tweaks.
So the definitive setup is :
TotalDac D1-CD with original foots
TotalDac black AES cable works exceptionally good with this drive.
No tweaks
No Furutech flux 50 NCF.
No Grimm CC1

Hi all,
A new review of the Totaldac d1-CD transport has been released by WOJCIECH PACULA for highfidelity.pl
Thank you very much, the listening feeling is very detailed.

"Conclusion: The tested CD transport delivers a lively, energetic, and resolving sound , and is also detailed, which will please those who enjoy hearing every detail. However, it's not fatiguing. There's no exaggeration in this presentation, which is easy with such qualities. It delivers a wide-band sound with a large soundstage. The foreground is stronger, and the background is presented in a powerful manner.
This device is far superior to older CD transports from popular brands, perhaps with the exception of the pricey CEC products. However, these deliver a completely different sound, so it's easy to choose which path you prefer. The d1-CD also sounds significantly better than CD players used in this role – both the mechanics and the digital output seem better implemented, serving only one purpose: reading the data from the CD and sending the signal out. The Totaldac excels at this.

can the transport still play a CD if you don't cover it with the metallic lid?
