Gryphon Audio Designs will make a big splash at AXPONA this year. There is the world debut of a reference quality product which will be unveiled on Friday. There will be a 30 minute demo every hour, then the room will remain passive for the other 30 minutes. As there are only 20 seats for each demo, we highly recommend that you book a seat to avoid disappointment - please click here for booking.
N.American debut of the Trident 2 speakers driven by the Mephisto Stereo, all Gryphon cabling.

Kyomi Audio will show the Legato phono stage with a TechDAS Airforce 3, Graham arm, Koetsu Jade cartridge in an MBL system with the 101 speakers; at # 1527.

Scott Walker Audio will be showing the Antileon EVO (stereo) & the Pandora (preamp) driving Magico M3 on the main floor - Journey / Creation.

Clearly the star of AXPONA was the worldwide debut of Gryphon's new reference CD player / DAC - The Ethos.

The demos were a closed door session and were really well attended. The only negative was the huge amoount of bleed through from the adjacent KEF & B&W rooms, there was a 6" gap between the airwall & the real wall on each side.

The Ethos CD player can play straight 16-44.1 or upsample to 32-384 PCM or upsample to DSD128. The USB input accepts up to 32-384 PCM or DSD512. Choice of filters as well. Not due to ship until the Autumn. Retail US $39,000

Good morning Beaux,

First off, we did not have the Kodo on active display - only passive. We had the Trident 2 on active display.
Second. We only had Thursday to set up that huge installation. Did not have sufficient time to install the speakers properly.
Before you can dial the speakers in properly, the system needs to settle down. AXPONA organizers need to give exhibitors an extra day for set up.
We had demos after 6PM on both Friday & Saturday, people who wanted to hear the Pantheon vs Trident. We opened the room again after 9PM for further music sessions.
We dialed in the speakers for midrange / soundstage on Saturday at 4:30/5PM.
It was a square room, horrible for bass. There was a nasty mid bass room node, that we might have been able to dial out, if we had the time.

The Shows were never designed as the ultimate demonstration, rather a taste. We will have the Tridents back in California in a weeks time or so, if you would like to drop by with your dealer.

Thanks for your insight.

Shows are not easy and require enormous amounts of work in very short time frames. I heard that your set up was great sorry I did not have time to see and hear it.
Bravo

Impressive room Phillip. Congrats!

Too bad your next door neighbors were playing music too loud to properly enjoy the Gryphon setup.

Congrats Hugh,
I don't doubt that after Joe Cali's installation, Laurie & yourself will enjoy musical magic in your new listening room.
Please post photos. Looking forward to your comments. These are the first pair of Trident 2 in N.America.
Our replacement Tridents won't ship until the end of August.
Happy listening
Philip

These 700+ lb crates were surprisingly enough handled quite easily by Niels Madsen (Gryphon Service Manager) who showed us how two people could install these massive speakers. Trident2_1.jpg Trident2_2.jpg Trident2_3.jpg Trident2_4.jpg Trident2_5.jpg Trident2_6.jpg Trident2_7.jpg
