I've been directed to a few interesting threads here lately and I'm also a long time fan of Sean Olive. So joining here seemed like a good idea.
I'm an electrical engineer by education and profession and have worked in the field of audio. So I very much share the analytical and objectivist thinking of most engineers. But I also respect the subjective side of things, valid listening tests, and will be the first to admit measurements are only part of the story.
I think there's plenty of subjective reviews on the web for most products, but relatively few well done objective reviews with proper measurements. I have a fairly decent collection of instrumentation including a Prism Sound dScope III audio analyzer (very similar to many of the Audio Precision analyzers). I've started conducting some objective product reviews on my personal blog. I'm not currently affiliated with any audio manufactures.
