Christiaan Punter has posted his review of the MPD-8 on hifi-advice.com awarding it his highest tier HFA award, Magnificent Masterpiece. I am a fan of Christiaan's reviews. While the MPT-8 was also discussed and highly praised, the review seems to indicate the MPT-8 will get its own detailed review.

I asked him how the Stream-X2 compares to Oladra for streaming from streaming services like Qobuz or Tidal.

His answer:
"That’s something for a potential follow-up review of the MPT-8. But in short: Qobuz sounds superb with Stream-X2. As much as I like the Oladra, Stream-X2 with the MPT-8 sounds faster-paced, more communicative and more direct, while retaining fluidity and flow. To my ears, it is the best streaming source yet."

>>> So Stream-X2 in the MPT-8 is superior to Oladra. It might be interesting how the new NAGRA streamer (which is compatible to MPD-8 via Nagra Link) compares to the Stream-X2

I’ve had both. Prefer the Nagra, assuming a good power supply.

Christiaan's reviews are always extensive and genuine where I often find his conclusions to be very much on point compared to my own experiences (for whatever that's worth ;)).
