Hiding absorbers and diffusors behind curtains?

I have a treated room with some diffusors and absorbers - I would like to give the room a somewhat more comfortable look though so I was thinking about putting curtains before the panels... would these do any harm to the function of the diffusors? I doubt that bass traps or even midrange absorbers would take any notice, but I do feel a little worried about diffusion... any thoughts and/or ideas how to hide these without affecting the function?

Cheers,

Chris

What kind of absorber e.g. Basotect? It doesn't bother them at all unless you use thick velvet curtains. If you can blow through the fabric and feel the air on the other side, they work as usual.exsample behind curtain20250106_111507.jpg
Or acoustic paintings works pretty well i use in the back and side walls of room

A pleated curtain might do some diffusion depending on how “shiny” it is.
If it is velour or felt, then it likely does not reflect the sound a whole lot.

Sometime “less can be more” when it comes to treatments.
Maybe not so much with the bass, but with absorbing high freqs.

Since you already have stuff in place, maybe just try hanging a blanket in front of what you have and see what it does?

I have curtains before my diffuser panels and bass traps, at least in my room they don't cause any issues.

… yeah, the blanket sounds like a good idea
