I can confirm that, we ABed at Jazzhead's place, he also has smaller wings, 1 each on the floor in front of the speaker raised up at a slight angle towards the speaker - very effective.
At Flyer's place, I ABed 4 wings behind the listener, and at Elberoth's I ABed 2 at first reflection points. They always worked creating spaciousness, focus, and soundstage
Will start with three, yes diffusion can be used on the floor, just as can be used on the ceiling. Lot easier to put on floor though I guess.
Before I get accosted by the retentive masses, I know these most likely scatter rather than diffuse strictly speaking. All I want is better focus and sense of space. Already use wooden devices that scatter behind my rack.
Thanks bozo, don't fear I wil try them all round the room at all possible angles till I go completely insane. Marketing thier positions with tape as I go, I am every inch the audio nutjob.
looks like angular bent concentric tubes with an opening slot , perhaps the passages between the tubes might do something as well?
Would be ultracool to edge light them with some leds.. especially if you laser etch some extra detail..

The Animas have a great timbre on individual instruments. They don't have the bass of the trios with bass horns. Trios better on separation, scale, wall to wall floor to ceiling stage. Animas better on timbre. A lot of Anima sound comes from those horns, which I don't mind, but some do. Animas sound different in each room and with different amps.
It would be most interesting were one to Mook the Trios up to the MaX, I suspect that would certainly close the gap somewhat with regard to timbre of presentation. Have you any preference between the Animas and the closest in price Cessaro ?

Each of these horns have very different presentations one needs to listen to. Choice of music will also dictate tastes. Vocals are very nice on the TAD driver. A Wilson and a Focal, different stats, even stats and ribbon planars, have much more similarity with each other than Trios, Anima, and Cessaro do. Acapella more similar to Cessaro in presentation, though very different drivers
The trios need to have some resonance reduction with sandbags and isolation of the frame. Then a Lampi or a nice TT with Mooks.

If there is anything strewn on the floor it is the odd LP sleeve or CD case and whilst untidy at least I don't have any big flat surfaces reflecting sound.

I learned at least 20 years ago that the most important part of a hifi is the room, and where the speakers are in it. I gave up audiophilia at about the same time, hardly ever change kit but listen several hours per day since I retired.
I am not a very "visual" person so clutter doesn't bother me at all, but IME a cluttered room always sounds better than a plain one.
It may well be that not having the Epilogs where they are would help the Animas, but the Epilogs are probably still the best speakers I have heard so I'm keeping them and they sound best where they are.
I don't come here often but did today since I wanted to see if Bonzo posted anything about Italy.
BTW I am also a fan of the Goldmund Apologues, which the Epilogs superseded and the Analogs too.

The Aries Cerat was more balanced in the top and mids, but less on bass than the Devialet. They also change when pointed inwards vs straight (think I prefer straight, it expands the soundstage).
Everybody please take into account that I have changed mid and treble level of my Animas between Bonzo's first and second visit. The FR is flatter but the bass level relatively lower than it was.
Horns are directional, good for reduced reflection but pointing them straight down the room gives a treble roll off which some may like but I do not.

Hi Frank, Jack and Manolis point them straight, but at this dealer in Paris http://www.whatsbestforum.com/showt...integrated-amp&p=309925&viewfull=1#post309925 , I got to listen to them pointed inwards as well as straight. He prefers inwards, I preferred straight. It wasn't for the roll off, it was for the soundstage, things got deeper and a bit more in-between. I don't think your room will allow that though, as the sound would hit the speakers in front first.

Frank Hi , I didnt realise you had the phantoms as well,comparing tethered systems must be interesting ?
I have two pairs ,sometimes three in one of my room sit isn't ideal.
